Gotta feel good for Matt Ryan yesterday. He came here with so much hype last spring and seemed genuinely thrilled to be here. Then the season started so poorly and he had the benching, which had to be brutal for him to take. But he took it like a pro and was a team guy. Yesterday his number was called and that game was exactly why so many were excited when we signed him. We had Taylor running it and Ryan making plays. That’s what everyone envisioned. Maybe Ryan just needed some time to heal up and hopefully this spark can continue.

I wouldn’t be surprised if one of Saturday’s conditions for taking the job is that it would be completely up to him to play the QB that gives us the best chance, as it should be. Plus Dungy’s comments about how he didn’t understand us going with Ehlinger rest of season when we had two Super Bowl QB’s on the roster had to reverberate with the Colts. When Dungy talks about the Colts, you can bet that plenty of people with the team are paying attention.

I know everyone says Vegas is a bad team, and they certainly are bad based on their poor record. But they have had a lot of close losses and it was never going to be easy to go in there and win yesterday. Plus it feels extra good when you factor in that they played a big part of eliminating us from the playoffs last year when they went into Lucas Oil last year and outplayed the Colts.

And while Reich deserved plenty of criticism, he was still a way better head coach than McDaniels. We at least made the playoffs twice with Reich. That probably would have been 0 with McDaniels.

I want Saturday to succeed because I’m a Colts fan, but I also want him to succeed to stick it to the likes of Joe Thomas and Bill Cowher. Is Cowher done crying about it yet?

Philly was bound to break through with a TD. Offense just hasn’t done a good enough job capitalizing on the field position.

Really amazing how many opportunities the offense squandered in this game.

Heartbreaker. We kinda beat ourselves with penalties. Of course the Eagle's shot themselves in the foot most of the day also.

I'm already all in for giving Saturday a contract.

We’ve never deserved to lose more.

Matt Ryan is toast, and Saturday doesn’t have the guts to pull him. What a wasted performance by the defense.

Run the ball... until they continually stop it... then maybe don't run it as much...
But that said, pass protection still remains ummmm questionable.
Nuntius was right for a while. I was wrong for a while. But ultimately I was right and Frank Vogel has been let go.

When do we reach the point we have to realize the team will just be going thru the motions? IOW, sooner rather than later one of these losses will be the loss, or some other team's win, that totally eliminates any playoff hopes. And at that point, I'm not sure there will be anything left in the tank. Sure, there's the old "pride" argument... or "playing for their job/contract/next season"... But there's also reality. It's a team sport and too many players they need to count on, too much early season hope, too big of a roller coaster ride to expect this season not to wear players down to the point there's nothing left. They've already lost too many games they should've won, needed to win... hard to see that turnaround coming now. 4-6-1 is who they are.

I just feel sorry for the defense. We’ve really wasted a good year from them. It has to wear on them to get almost no help from the offense. They got that turnover today at like (I think) the 20 something yard line and all the offense could do was get a FG. Season in a nutshell really.

This offense just can’t score touchdowns. While it was weird to commit to Ehlinger the rest of the year, I see why they wanted to give him a look. Ryan just can’t advance the ball. It’s tough to watch. I’d be fine giving Ehlinger another look. He looked pretty good against Washington. Sure it was brutal against NE, but they have a great D so I’m not going to write him off for that.

Despite Wentz’s horrible end of the season, the offense was just so much more alive with him last year (which isn’t saying much). He at least had a deep ball and could make plays on his feet. I never thought I’d yearn for Wentz, but that just shows how bad the offense has been this year. Wentz looked like prime Big Ben compared to what we’ve watched this year.

How many more times are we going to watch Ryan throw it to the side for a short gain on a third and long because he can’t advance it up field? We almost never make anything happen in the middle. Painful to watch.

Read on 1070’s website that the Colts defense is 5th in yards allowed per game, 11 in points allowed, and 6th on third down.

The 11th in points allowed would almost certainly be considerably better if they weren’t playing with an offense that constantly put them in such a terrible spot, whether it be a 3 and out, turnover with poor field position, not capitalizing on a turnover that they forced, etc.

We have a very good defense, but unfortunately you just aren’t making the playoffs when your offense can’t move the ball downfield.

Timing really sucks if this defense was arond during the Manning years..
