Definitely not a good trend. No one hitting shots but Edey. The freshmen definitely look worn down and no one is stepping up. Kudos to the Hoosiers

Edey did everything he could, but he's just flawed and JHS exposes every flaw.

Watching purdue is very awkward right now because media decided in december that smith and loyer were this great freshman backcourt and while they wil lbe a solid backcourt in 2 years, they are not good right now. Loyer is straight up bad most of the time. Painter's insistence on playing Ehtan Morton, who is awful, doesn't help.

You saw the vast difference in these two teams in not only JHS, but also how much better Galloway and Kopp are than Purdue's other guys.

Purdue holds steady at 5 (lots of teams behind them lost too), IU up to 15

Sheesh nothing even to say, just a horrendous performance. Awful, awful effort as soon as they realized Iowa was hot.

yeah, i guess it'll be nice to go in to the nccas without expectations and then be surprised in case it goes well... i do think newman is going to make or break us to some extent... but it's about time he's given the chance...morton might have to play for loyer too

I suspected Ohio State might go on a run but they keep losing players, they're basically playing six guys now. I don't see them getting past Purdue, based on the best approach against Purdue is to keep pressure on the guards and with 6 guys and 4 games in 4 days the math doesn't add up

If Purdue does get by Ohio State will it be an all-Indiana final for the Big Ten Tourney championship?

Boilers are really going to have to work hard to crap the bed on this one, Ohio State already looking gassed

The only thing I can say with any certainty about today's Purdue - Penn State is that Micah Shrewsbury won't be coaching at Penn State next year

7.5 points seems like a lot but Purdue has won both matchups this year, by 20 and 13. Purdue would seemingly have more motivation as a win would probably lock up a #1 seed but I think it's going to be close

It was both a double digit game AND close for the same game... Wow...
Nuntius was right for a while. I was wrong for a while. But ultimately I was right and Frank Vogel has been let go.

Zach Edey, Trayce Jackson-Davis, Marcus Sasser of Houston, Jalen Wilson of Kansas, and Brandon Miller of Alabama selected to the AP's All American 1st team. Edey was the only unanimous selection

Jalen Pickett of Penn State makes 2nd team, and Kris Murray of Iowa makes 3rd team

Some interesting potential matchups for Purdue, aside from all the big names. In the 1st round the Boilers face the winner of the Texas Southern/Fairleigh Dickinson matchup. Texas Southern only won 9 regular season games but got hot at the right time and won the SWAC tournament to get the automatic bid. Fairleigh Dickinson is the shortest team in the country, with the average starter just a tad over 6 foot one

The 2nd round matchup would be much tougher, either a Memphis team that took out Houston in their tournament and would put a lot of pressure on Purdue's court, or the Owls of Florida Atlantic who rank #26 in KenPom

Assuming Purdue gets past those and if somehow Oral Roberts could get past Duke in the 1st round and the winner of Tennessee/Louisiana in the 2nd, it would set up a great individual matchup for Edey against 7 foot 5 Connor Vanover. Vanover has an inch on Edey but Edey has 80 pounds on Vanover. Vanover shoots 34% from 3-point range and takes over 4 3-point attempts a game. Edey hasn't had to guard anybody like that. Hunter Dickinson would be the closest thing but Vanover is obviously much taller than Dickinson

Purdue will have its hands full getting past Memphis or FAU, and likely would face a hot Duke team after that. Not going to be easy

Rutgers, a favorite to win the NIT, loses in the first round in OT to Hofstra. The Big Ten is off to flying start yet another postseason

It will be interesting to see how the B10 does this post-season, and considering the complaints about B10 officiating, how that might impact the teams in the NCAAT and whether it's helping/hurting in NCAAT play. And if it's hurting, whether it's time for officials and coaches to morph things in a direction that fits what is happening in the tourney so that the season is properly preparing teams for the post season.
