I just don't trust the combination of Reich and Wentz. Wentz is at best a game manager, and he's one lucky QB because he gets away with several gifts to the defense. He's inconsistent... at best. And Reich wants to call a Madden game and you never know if he's going to go for it on 4th and 22 with a running play, or waste a FG attempt in the redzone on 4th and 10.... Nor go conservative at the worst possible time.
I think a lot of this could be fixed with an OC that gets to call the plays and Reich just create the overview of the scheme. But that said, the Colts' D sure gets porous at the worst times, so there are issues there too.
Reich is never going to be confused for a coaching genius. Not for game management anyway.Nuntius was right for a while. I was wrong for a while. But ultimately I was right and Frank Vogel has been let go.

I picked the Raiders to win this game anyways. Carr usually wins(well this one as his brother sucked against us) against the Colts. Plus with Madden's passing they were going to come out inspired. I also figured Wentz wasn't going to be the same after this past week so this result isn't surprising to me as it is to you guys.
Plus the Colts don't make it easy they have always been an inconsistent bunch.Comment

It's really hard to call a game with how bad Wentz has been the past few weeks.Comment

Reich was the one reason the Colts were in this game. Going for it and getting a TD when most coaches would have taken the FG before the half. And then going for it on 4th and 1 which led to another TD.

I think how badly Wentz has played is a bit overblown. Especially since he played rather efficient last week. I mean he has made some boneheaded plays but he's also done what was needed to win and for some reason this is ignored by most people because they don't like the guy.
Yet, I don't think Reich, when it gets down to it, wants to call a game like needs to be when you have a star RB and a QB that can really only serve as a game manager. He needs all the sideline help he can get.Nuntius was right for a while. I was wrong for a while. But ultimately I was right and Frank Vogel has been let go.

I like him fine... I just don't think he plays QB at the level needed for a team like the Colts that needs decision making on the field to counter mistakes and aggressiveness from the sideline. Get out of a bad play... don't make a bad play worse... take what the defense is giving you... Make the big play work.

I do think there needs to be a third voice involved when it comes to calling the offensive plays.Comment
