If we trade Brogdon and Myles/LeVert....we have Duarte TJ Warren Lamb Holiday and Brissett @ about 40% from 3p.

Ah, I'm gonna have to say no on that one lol.

Lamb is pretty consistently a 35% 3pt shooter except for one outlying year there.

Justin? 36.5%

TJ? Maybe/likely. We're still waiting on him to come back.

Brissett? Maybe. Not enough long term evidence.

Duarte? Maybe/probably. But you don't know how that shots gonna fare until he goes up against NBA talent.

You get lucky you've got two fringe level starters can hit close to 40%, another guy that's done it for two yrs after starting his career as a very poor shooter, remains to be seen when he returns from injury. Even if/when he does, Duarte will not start over Levert, Simmons and TJ so it's a moot point.


And....I hate to burst your bubble, but Sixers aren't taking Myles, so yes you're probably losing one of Warren, Duarte or Lamb in the bargain.

Probably 1...maybe 2... At best case scenario, 3 guys on the entire team can be expected over 37%. Meanwhile on your starting 5 only one player has a chance to shoot over 37% and he's recovering from an injury.

Then you don’t do that trade. They get two starting level players, and maybe Lamb if it really tips the scale. You don’t trade 4 starters for him, he can rot in purgatory if that is what they are demanding.

I can see Philly getting 2 solid starter level players like Brogden and Warren. They're not getting that plus multiple 1st round picks And they're not getting an All Star level player for Simmons. Philly's back is against the wall just like ours was with Paul George it's just different circumstances.
Simmons just isn't that special and he's way overpaid for his production.

Probably true. I remember everyone getting very excited about Charles Barkley maybe coming to the Pacers. But alas we have to remember who runs the show.

Keep in mind that if the Pacers were somehow able to trade for Simmons, the likelihood is that they would end up trading ( at least ) 2 of the 3 Starting Guards and Forwards and maybe even one of either Myles ( likely ) or Sabonis to a 3rd Team ( to acquire enough assets to entice the Sixers ).

The Pacers could end up getting Simmons but the Starting lineup is gutted where we are left with a broken down TJ Warren, Myles and/or Sabonis.

I'm just suggesting not to freak out if the Pacers somehow trade for Simmons and the 2021-2022 roster looks like a total mess.

The likely that 8 to 9 man rotation for this season should be considered a huge "work in progress" for next season and that the time to really judge what the Pacers have is after the Summer of 2022 ( not this but next Offseason ).

They were a KD wear the wrong size shoes from a championship. They will this year as long as KD and one of Harden and Kyrie stay healthy. No one in the East can beat them if that happens.
