Interesting that it is IU's guard play that is letting them down. Especially, when you would've thought Durham and Phinisee would have solid seasons. Phinisee just never has returned to his freshman form, and year was supposed to be derailed by injuries. But what's the excuse this year?
Durham has looked better too... but not this season.

I'm not sure losing to Northwestern or Illinois is really that embarrassing this season, but IU didn't need those losses either. And at some point, they need to beat BigTen teams regardless of their record or rankings.
There's definitely a flaw in the system, and now it's just a question of can Archie correct it before he becomes "the previous IU coach" himself?

I guess we are firmly a football school now. Looks like another mediocre basketball season. I just feel nothing but boredom for Indiana basketball at this point. It’s just sad how totally irrelevant we are as a program.

    Sorta 'bucket game' back on...
Friday night. The Big Ten should've scheduled IU against Iowa (following norms), but with Purdue and IU both getting through a Covid-19 period and recently canceling, the BT pitted them against each other. Mainly because they were likely teams that might have to cancel due to Covid, and this means if they do, it only impacts 1 game.

(and seeing how it sounds the cancellation is on Michigan's side, I wouldn't be upset because of something outside Ohio State's control).
It's also out of IU's control. Why should IU be punished? They followed the rules and if they play on Saturday against Purdue will have been the only big Ten team I think to manage an entire season except maybe northwestern? Either way. IU has proven to be the second best big ten team.

If you're going to change the rules, the answer is simple, you run back IU vs Ohio State in the Big Ten title game. No one from the West comes even close to deserving it.

And if IU didn't pay him at this point, they'd have a riot on their hands. Just hand Allen a blank check at the end of the season and be done with it.

My god, this may literally be the best recruiting material ever.

Penix reminds me a bit of Bob sanders. He's really good when healthy but, he's very fragile and is often out of service.

And Penix is out for the season. Just unbelievable. This program has done everything right and now loses Penix in back to back seasons.

Tuttle is one of the most highly decorated players in IU history from a recruiting standpoint (He was I believe the number 5 pro style QB in the country when he committed to Utah). The raw talent is there, he probably doesn't have Penix's moxy, but if they can get him right the team can still compete. A whole lot of pressure on that defense, but the Big Ten West just clearly isn't very good. If NW can beat Wiscy, then so can IU even without Penix.
