        Re: Xbox One Random Thoughts

I was planning on getting a new Xbox after this semester was over because I didn't want to have it looking at me begging me to play it while I was trying to study. This is our spring break week so I figured I'd try to take my mind of studying by getting a new Xbox. I ended up getting the Titanfall bundle and started installing it around 130 or so. Three hours later, it's only at 55%. Thought I was going to be able to play a few hours before the Pacer game, but apparently I thought wrong.

My installation only took a little over half an hour.

If it's stuck u need to restart and it seems like everyone's first install takes the longest my titanfall install was about 10-15min

I guess I should have mentioned it wasn't a hard copy of the game, but rather a download. I don't think I'll ever download another game after this one if they take this long.

Mileage may vary. I downloaded Titanfall in about 2-2.5 hours.

I think it was like 16GB or something in that neighborhood.

So my XB1 has developed an odd issue. Whenever I turn it on now, the screen is very dark. Almost like someone has turned the brightness way down. I can still see it, but everything is very dark. If I just turned the console off and back on, the problem goes away. Certainly it's not a console breaking issue, but it is annoying and a bit weird. Anyone else having this issue or know how to fix it? I tried to google it and mostly only got responses where people's screens were going completely black which is not really what I have going on.

I've also been having server issues both with Titanfall and Xbox the past day.

The DLC Naval Assault was delayed by Dice for the Xbox 1 till April. I would prefer Dice and EA work on their server issues because I get a little tired of having to fix my classes every so often because they get reverted back. I have really enjoyed Battlefield 4, but damn the server issues drives me nuts.

Yeah that was on the PC end too. Saw a bunch of tweets from Titanfall saying they were having difficulty with their servers. Later last night they said things should be fine.

                                Re: Xbox One Random Thoughts

Here’s the final breakdown of the features rolling out to Xbox One systems starting tonight and over the next few days:

Game and app saves and updates. A game save progress bar will show you the status of your game saves. You will also be able to easily tell what games and apps are being updated or have been updated recently.

Friends improvements. Notifications will be added to see when favorites and friends sign in to Xbox Live. This was one of the most frequently requested features, so we made it a priority to include it in this update. Also, friends who are in multiplayer will be identified in the friends list.

Kinect voice and motion improvements will continue to be fine-tuned for quality and reliability of Xbox One commands. For example, we’ve updated some of the gesture functionality to reduce false positives on non-hand objects triggering gesture commands.

Improved GameDVR video quality through compression algorithm improvements.

Blu-ray player supports 50 Hz video output for content recorded at 50 Hz. We’ll also be updating the Blu-ray Player app in the coming days to round out these improvements.

Controller and headset adaptor firmware updates will reduce audio static and improve wireless connectivity.

Silent reboot after system updates and system update on demand now available. If your console is in Instant On mode, the update will happen automatically and return to standby upon completion. This means you won’t need to power on your console after an update moving forward. If you want to take future updates when available without waiting for your console to do it on its own, we’ve added this option under system settings and you’ll be able to use it next update. It will only show as available when there is an update to take.

Tonight, we will begin rolling out the next Xbox One system update. Again, I’d like to thank all of the Xbox Live members who previewed features with us and shared some of their feedback. Their input helped shape this system update, and we look forward to expanding our list of previewing Xbox Live members in […]
April update is rolling out tonight. Will be glad to have friend notifications back.
