My dad was UAW. I watched GM shut down plants for years putting his job in jeopardy. I'm not fan of outsourcing or offshoring. It never should have been allowed. Fact is, I am a conservative on some issues but a nationalist to the core.
And BTW, Trump is also a nationalist. That's where we tend to agree. I like the fact he opposes China. I like who he puts on the USSC. I like the fact he's strong military but not interested in policing the world. There's a lot to like there. But all that other stuff about him....not a fan.
edit: plus, you want to think about how "I like the fact he opposes China" and "I like the fact he's strong military but not interested in policing the world." fit together. If the US starts ******** on allies, guess who's going to step in to take our place?Last edited by dal9; 04-05-2020, 06:44 PM.Comment

This s*** is not going to be over as long as other states keep letting their clowns governors do whatever the f*** they want.@WhatTheFFacts: Studies show that sarcasm enhances the ability of the human mind to solve complex problems!Comment

Originally posted by New York TimesHospital officials, public health experts and medical examiners say that official tallies of Americans said to have died in the pandemic do not capture the overall number of virus-related deaths, leaving the public with a limited understanding of the outbreakโs true toll.
Limited resources and a patchwork of decision making from one state or county to the next have contributed to the undercount. With no uniform system for reporting coronavirus-related deaths in the United States, and a continuing shortage of tests, some states and counties have improvised, obfuscated and, at times, backtracked in counting the dead.
Adding to the complications, different jurisdictions are using distinct standards for attributing a death to the coronavirus and, in some cases, relying on techniques that would lower the overall count of fatalities.
A coroner in Indiana wanted to know if the coronavirus had killed a man in early March, but said that her health department denied a test. Paramedics in New York City say that many patients who died at home were never tested for the coronavirus, even if they showed telltale signs of infection.
In Virginia, a funeral director prepared the remains of three people after health workers cautioned her that they each had tested positive. But only one of the three had the virus noted on the death certificate.
Doctors now believe that some deaths in February and early March were likely misidentified as influenza or only described as pneumonia.
Even under typical circumstances, public health experts say that it takes months or years to compile data that is as accurate as possible on deaths in infectious outbreaks.
But they also say that an accurate count of deaths is an essential tool to understand a disease outbreak as it unfolds: The more deadly a disease, the more aggressively the authorities are willing to disrupt normal life. Precise death counts can also inform the federal government on how to target resources, like ventilators from the national stockpile, to the areas of the country with the most desperate need.

State governments have an important function and the last thing we need is the federal government dictating everything. Had Indiana the same laws/policies as Illinois we would be mess like them. No thanks. Liberal policies have about destroyed Chicago. I don't want some idiot Karl Marx clone telling my state what to do.Comment

it's not about nationalism--it's about supporting well-paying jobs. i would buy a car made in japan or germany before i bought a non-union US made car.

Sollozzo said it was a waste to speak sense to you. So this will be a waste.
It's much like holding multiple clinical trials to find the best treatments and potential vaccines. It's far better to test to see what works best and then share that with the entire nation.
It's funny that liberals think we should have the federal government dictate when Trump would be the one doing that. I suppose it is true that TDS leads to irrational thoughts and actions.
The trials decipher if the treatment works or not. Doctors can not throw drugs at people in a weaken state and expect their livers and kidneys to detoxify the compounds. This is why they are limited on how many drugs can be prescribed at any given time.
Humans naturally show rates of recovery from the virus so we really do not know if a combination works unless you compare it to enough people who haven't had it or had a different combination.
You may say who cares but without knowing you can not find the possible combination that works. If people did not spontaneously recover then sure you could dose as many combinations as you want since the outcome would be death and anyone who survived would be directly due to the drugs prescribed.Comment

I've always known they were awful. They're far worse than I realized. We are witnessing pure evil from those at the top (MSM, DNC), and a combination of evil and gullibility from those on the bottom (MSM viewers, DNC voters).Comment

I am sorry what do you think clinical trials are?

I was saying that allowing the states to decide how they handle the virus, with guidance from the federal government, is similar to holding a variety of independent clinical trials attempting to find treatments and vaccines. I was certainly not talking about a single person going through multiple trials or mixes of prospective treatments.
Edit: The point is, the best ideas win out.
Another edit: I better explain this even more because it might be a blind spot for liberals. State's rights is a strength because the best ideas in the nation get tested. Similar to testing multiple drugs which I know liberals like. So they should like state's rights....Last edited by BlueNGold; 04-05-2020, 07:03 PM.Comment
