No, it is a fact. I am delighted a fanbase has optimism for it's own team. I don't share that optimism about this edition of the Colts and the way they got here. I have just as much right to state what I believe to be their limitations as you do to think they will be 13-3 as some have predicted. I am not mad. I am disappointed. I am 65. If the Colts take five to ten years to recover and this is possible if Luck doesn't not turn into a superstar then I probably won't see them win again and the nursing home where I am a resident probably won't even have a service to get the games. You be as excited as you want about them, I wouldn't deny you that..... ...

Pertaining to the bolded part --- But you are, with every post. You're taking the fun out of this entire off-season with your horrible outlook. And you're "delighted" that we have optimism for our team??? Wow, coulda fooled me, sounds more like you are hell-bent on coming in and wrecking any fun and optimism we have for this new team.

And who the hell said they'd be 13-3??

I don't think ANYONE has said they'd be 13-3. If someone did, they're nuts, don't attack this entire forum for that claim, because it's not true. I'd guess most of us think they're good for 4-6 wins this year. We won TWO last year with absolutely no offense. It's not unreasonable to think we may squeak out 2-3 more. Luck is 10X greater *right now* than Painter was last year, and we've cut a lot of old, aging, injured players and repalced them with young healthy ones.

You need to wise up and realize we drafted and brought in some decent talent, that will at least get us a few more wins than last year. It's clear that you haven't been reading a lick of anything about the Colt's new staff and players, or you just have blinders on. No one is predicting they'll be world-beaters this year, but they are at least capable of winning 2-3 more games.

There are two types of quarterbacks in the league: Those whom over time, the league figures out ... and those who figure out the league.

The 13-3 claim is definitely a strawman, so let's put that argument to bed right now.

I see no reason this team can't win 6-7 games this season, but I also wouldn't be shocked if they only won 3-4. Even Manning only won 3 in his first season, but I do consider Luck's team built a bit better around him than Peyton's first team was.

Manning was the greatest Colt of all time, but he's on the downside of his career and had a lot of question marks around him concerning his health. He wasn't going to play here forever, and with Luck falling to us, this year was as good a time as ever to start the rebuild. I will definitely be watching and rooting for Peyton and the Broncos as my #2 team.

I read everything. I doubt anyone here reads more widely that I do. I am not convinced and yes, more than one reader here predicted 13 wins. Several predict .500. Most saw 4-6 wins. I don't think they will get close to that. In fact, I expect two or less but three wouldn't be a great shock. I agree with Kipper for this year and I think they will be playing for the number one pick again. Jacksonville is almost as bad and that might be their best chance to win a game or two. I don't see them beating the Titans or Houston at all. We will see after eight games and one of will be right and the other will be wrong. I will certainly admit it if I am wrong. Will you admit it and just say the Colts really Suck if you are wrong? By the way, all of the new Colts players and staff are suspect until they prove otherwise..... ... .

BTW, Manning is suspect until he proves otherwise too and you cited some guy saying he would be one of the top 5 QBs. That is fairly selective reasoning. Manning, didn't play last season, over 35, 3 surgeries, new team with new receivers, likely still rehabbing and still he will be great. Our team ??

The poll for the link above only shows two, but maybe I am missing something.

People think I am bat **** crazy (what else is new) but I could see a new QB, with a little help from a decent running game and a little help from the defense (a big question mark, I know) leading the 9 or 10 wins.

Will the Colts win 10 games this year? Probably not. But I could honestly see it happening.

Maybe you all think I am crazy. Maybe I am. or maybe I am the next Nostradamus.

I have no problem with people disagreeing with me. Hell, it is part of why I love visiting the NFL forum here. However the childish name calling is pathetic.

Not only is he delusional but he's a lying hypocrite.

What's hilarious is he said he doesn't see the Colts getting anywhere near to 4-6 wins but follows that up by saying he could see 3 wins. 3 isn't anywhere near 4?

This is just the NFL. It's different than any other sport. If Bobcats fans went into the NBA season thinking they're going to win 45 games and make the playoffs, I would say they're crazy.

In the NFL I don't begrudge any NFL fan base for believing their team could win 9 games and sneak into the playoffs. It happens every year it seems that some team goes from the bottom of the NFL to making the playoffs. I certainly don't think that'll be the Colts this year (and I almost hope it isn't, as I'd love to be near the top of the draft and snag a shut down corner), but I wouldn't be completely shocked if it was.
