    It's great seeing Goga succeed.

Canโ€™t help but wonder why Cuban wonโ€™t throw a couple bucks at some of Doncicโ€™s Slovenian teammates that he evidently enjoys some decent chemistry with, namely Tobey and Prepelicโ€ฆwouldnโ€™t cost much anyway.

Didn't he resign with the Lakers for a very reasonable salary? I heard the Spurs thought about offering him the max and decided against it.

(preface this by saying that my wording was a bit vague, I meant he wasnโ€™t going to ultimately end up here, not necessarily that we wouldnโ€™t even bother trying)

But, word on the street is the Lakers were going to match pretty much anything, and though Iโ€™m not one of the doom-and-gloomers, I mean, from his perspective itโ€™s LA+Lebron/AD vs Indy+Haliburton/Mathurinโ€ฆand, wellโ€ฆ

Perhaps we could have given him Brownโ€™s bag, but Reaves was going to get a long deal, and though I have nothing to back this up Iโ€™ve long suspected we ended up with Brown because we needed someone to take that funky loaded-but-only-one-guaranteed-year deal we probably cooked up for cap reasons. Reaves didnโ€™t need that when the Lakers would offer him basically 4 years.

We also have a bit of a logjam at his position, and like Mathurin (and no I donโ€™t buy for a second Mathurin is 6โ€™6 as bbref now attempts to gaslight me), he canโ€™t really be a 3 unless itโ€™s preceded by the word โ€œundersizedโ€

US played a close game earlier today against Serbia-Montenegro. It was tight until the end and they were down at the half. Montenegro's size was a bit of a problem for the US. Tyrese closed the game, played five more minutes than Brunson (who struggled), had the best stat line on the team and the highest efficiency rating (15).

Getting pretty excited here. Stoked for the USA game tonight (my time). We need a good draw (need may be a strong word) for elimination rounds. I have a refundable trip set up next weekend for Manila just in case, with the only locked in price being the tickets I bought (if I can't resell them). I got a general admission bronze game ticket, and a decent-ish gold game ticket. Have never watched my guy Haliburton in person, nor Team USA, so have been paying close attention to this WC.

Imagine if Curry, LeBron, AD, KD played for USA.

I don't care what anyone says. USA should never lose. It's an embarrassment every time it happens.
