Wow, remember those early 2000s Argentine teams? Quite a fall since their golden generation or whatever retired. Props to Buddy and co.

They were still ranked #4 in FIBA, so they still had decent fringe/ex-NBA guys...and tbh, Ayton-Buddy-Gordon is a really strong trio for FIBA

Completely agree. That's a quality trio, especially against a roster without any active NBA players.

The thing that is so funny about Kerr starting Brunson is that he is the exact type of guard that has led every failed modern Team USA and Haliburton is the exact type of guard that has led every successful modern Team USA.

Is Steve Kerr actually booty? Probably

How do you mean? Too ball dominant?

Brunson is always looking for his own shots about 75% or more of his time on the floor... THATS the problem and why Ty is the superior pg to run a winning team

Who is better defensively, Brunson or Haliburton? I kind of figured that was the reason Brunson got the nod

Kinda a push, IMO. Brunson is short and Tyrese is slow (not quick slow.) But Tyrese's length allows him to block the occasional shot and maybe a better chance of a deflection. Neither of them is all defense.

This is interesting…I can’t claim to have watched the Knicks much, but I sort of just assumed he was more of a traditional PG than Vanvleet 2.0. At least, I thought that was his rep in Dallas, but then again anybody playing next to Doncic is going to look like a selfless pass-first PG anyway.

Seriously though, what happened to Argentina? There used to be a boatload of good Argie players in the NBA — and one great one, of course — but I can’t think of a single one in the league now.
Is Bolmaro Argentinian? For some reason, my memory says he is. (Also, is he still in the league even?)

Edit: Google told me he is Argentinian and represents the national team, but he's not even in the league any more. Plays in Germany now apparently. Feel good about not liking him in his draft now. (Kind of like an seven of all trades instead of a jack, iirc).

Canada waxed France by 30...US's first game is tomorrow I think.

Canada could have a decent roster. If Jamal Murray, Mathurin and Sharpe played, they would be so much better
"So, which one of you guys is going to come in second?" - Larry Bird before the 3 point contest. He won.

Banchero and Reaves have been pretty awesome so far for the US. That bench group, in general, is way more fun to watch.
