How do we make Tyrese stay for more than 3 seasons?

Tank? Free agent signing? Trade? Try our best to win-now?

Get him Rudy Gay and Torey Craig in free agency.

The Pacers will pay him the max as a rfa and he'll stay. Losing Hali as a free agent is not a real concern.
Why do teams tank? Ask a Spurs fan.

Offer him the 5yr 25% max qualifying offer contract and he can't go anywhere else. The Jimmy Butler in Chicago situation.

Bring some high end talent in here or Tyrese will leave and Bennedict Mathurin will turn into Bennedict Arnold and leave too. lol
Larry Bird and Ryan Grigson- wasting the talents of Paul George and Andrew Luck

I'm just hoping he doesn't win a spot on the all-nba team this year and next so we don't gave to pay him the supermax

The Pacers sign 42 year old David West to a 3 year deal to finally give Tyrese that Power Forward they've been looking for.

If Haliburton gets All-NBA next year, he'll be eligible to not get the rookie max and instead the max that people get coming off their second contract (30 percent of the cap instead of 25). He will not be eligible for the supermax which is another step up (35 percent of the cap) because that is for players with more experience.

Hali is still in that innocent part of his career, I remember when PG/Dipo had the same look until they realized what was happening.

Pacers have to be careful not to pull a Pacers 4 times on a row.

They're probably going to pull a Pacers this year. Right now is the time to focus on 3-4 years from now and what kind of talent we'll be able to put with Hali on his next contract. We need to be drafting those players this summer and next with our lottery picks but I'm pretty sure our front office only cares about making the play in tournament this year with the only vision for the future being a post season team not a contender.
