Pacers package of players is a big risk for Philly. LaVert has the fracture in his back...still not sure how that happens playing basketball in the offseason. Warren still in a boot for a year now. Brogdon is prone to strains in his hips and groin.

Imo Philly is just trying to leverage the greatest offer possible and the press is playing their game, and not calling their bluff. Whatever actually happens, it isn't going to be what philly keeps trying to ask for and I 100% believe that they realize that.

Not sure if it's true or not....but Embiid said that the Sixers traded Butler cuz he didn't fit with Simmons.

The Sixers should be in a situation similar to where the Pacers were w/PG and ultimately forced to take a discounted deal. Not holding my breath though as Philly is a market and Embid is a player Silver and the league would like to see succeed.....

For those still harboring the illusion that the Sixers are gradually coming down to our level, here's the latest reported request:

Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium stated:
"If he was ever to report, it would certainly be with short-term intentions. ... The Sixers reportedly asked the Portland Trail Blazers for three first-round picks and three draft swaps as a part of a potential package that would send guard CJ McCollum to Philly in exchange for Simmons, but Portland rejected that proposal."

So if we offered, by comparison, Brogdon, giving up three 1sts and 3 swaps STILL wouldn't get it done.

**** those clowns. I'd say there are maybe 5 players I'd give up that haul for, and Simmons isn't one of them.
And then you realize that you are losing nothing by giving them all those picks swaps.

Sorry if I don’t care to lose on the next Goga, Leaf, Myles Turner IDGAF

    The most I'd do is:

    1) Brogdon, Warren and a 2nd; or
    2) Brogdon and Lavert

... Except that, McCollum is older, has WAY more NBA mileage on his tires, and is making about 50% more than Brog. And while he's been solid injury wise for most of that time he's dealt with some injuries recently including that foot fracture. Given their statistical similarity, then, I'd give Brogdon the slight edge in terms of perceived worth.

I think it's interesting, from an objective viewpoint, to be able to dispel the inherent "exciting ice cream vs bland flavor" bias that we tend to have about our own guys, and realize that infact Brogdon's effective worth/talent is, essentially, a CJ MCCollum. That's not by any means a bad thing. He's earned that.

In other words; I'm suggesting the obvious.

Simmons isn't going to the Pacers ( duh ) or the Pacers significantly overpay to outbid all the other Teams ( simply cuz that's what the Pacers are often forced to do ).

I know that many of you don't care about draft picks; but given all of the "negatives" and legitimate concerns that many of us have about Simmons and his willingness to actually play in Indy, I don't think that it's a good idea to gamble and overpay to get him. IF it happens; this could easily be one of those moves that gets the Pacers to the next level or it could be one that will ruin this Team for the next 5 years.
    Do you mean Brogdon?

And I agree it most likely will not be the Pacers. With all the picks and pick swaps I would pass.

It isn't made clear when he did that. He probably has followed him for a while. They were in the same draft class, so maybe it dates to back then.
