Re: Bird Will Stay with Pacers - Pacers.com

Lance was the least ready, because he had legal problems. Larry came out and said that Lance didn't play because of his legal issues, and now that he had them behind him, Larry wanted to see Lance on the floor.

His defense was just an excuse.

Its not just Lance, I guarantee there were others on the team causing problmes

Like the Bird quote about Vogel not being tough enough and players being late for practice and clowning around , and only straightening up when Bird came around

Surely this cant be all Lance, or should Wells spin it in a way that it was somehow Lance's fault that others were late to practice and clowning around

So if some of those people who were clowning around and late to practice, were also the ones aledgedly upset with Lance, they need o look in the mirror
Do you have NBAtv? They have a show on there called The Association, and it followed the Celtics around for their daily grind.

They would show practice footage, and trust me, it wasn't all business. They joked around all the time. In practice, in the lockerroom before games, in the lockerroom after games. Whenever.

Clowning around doesn't mean creating problems. We're talking about 20-40 year old men here. They have the ability to be serious one minute, and then in the very next minute be joking. They aren't elementary kids who have trouble keeping focus.

Did they clown around TOO MUCH? I don't know. I don't watch practices, or have any insider information that's there either.

But I do know that it never came out as a public distraction.

      Lance has.

      Now we're getting into a tit-for-tat argument.

EDIT: Regardless of what his teammates are doing, it still doesn't excuse Lance for his actions. If other players are a distraction, then they need to be taken care of as well, but I'm not privvy to that information.

Lance needs to grow up. There's nothing else that can be said.

Respectfully, I think your missing the point

If players that had an issue with Lance's alledged immaturity are also the same one's late for practice and not taking practice seriously they are hypocrites

Bird made a comment that the players were doing just that, hence on the reasons Bird wanted Vogel to go harder on them

You cant tell another person "grow up" if your acting childish yourself

Being that Bird phrased it as plural then why no indivfidual mention of said players by Wellls

Yet Lance blows his nose incorrectly and an hour later Wells is blogging on it
Sittin on top of the world!
