Not much going on this time of year other than playoff news. We have a few playoff records here & there, a handfull of birthdays coming up & since its the offseason, little in the way of transactions.

So, I'll do something that has turned into one of my favorite features....

                                Pacers by the Numbers

                                We're up to jersey #14

Freddie Lewis: Lewis was one of the original Pacers and wore #14 from 67-68 through the 73-74 season. Lewis was traded to Memphis in July 1974. He did return for part of the 76-77 season but he switched to #1 for that year.

Ricky Sobers: The Pacers traded for Sobers on September 6th, 1977. He picked up the jersey that has only been worn by Lewis & kept the number for the two full seasons he was with Indiana. Sobers was delt to Chicago on August 28th, 1979.

Jerry Sichting: A year went by before anyone wore #14. Sichting was signed October 9th, 1980 as a free agent & remained a Pacer for five full seasons. On October 3rd of 1985 Sichting was traded to Boston.

Randy Wittman: Wittman was aquired on February 20th, 1989 in a trade with Sacramento. He remained a Pacer until his retirement following the 91-92 season.

Gerald Paddio: Paddio was part of the Schrempf for McKey deal of November 1st, 1993. He was a Pacer for just four weeks, being waived on November 29th, 1993.

Sam Perkins: Smooth was signed January 21st, 1999 as a free agent and spent three seasons in Indiana. Perkins was waived September 17th, 2001.

Tim Hardaway: Mr. Sensitivity was the last player to wear #14. Hardaway was signed March 27th, 2003, appeared in just 10 games & didn't return after the 02-03 season.

That's it for today, see ya tomorrow!
