This is a great signing and my hopes is that this ends his career here and then begins his second career either in the front office or behind the bench with our team.
Couldn’t have said it better myself. This guy has literally earned every last bit of this: both his admiration from the fans, and this contract. He is one of the bedrocks of this team, truly helped set the culture.

We have a phenomenal back court.

      No comment on the rest.

I love me some TJM, but I'm not a big fan of this extension. I still have a hard time believing he'll be playable in even two or three years. Maybe it helps that he has a pretty soft cap of about 20mpg to keep him energized.

I just think of the money tied up between TJ and Obi, and I can't help but to think we could do something better with that cash (for the future). Oh well, at least the team definitely has it's soul leader for a while longer.

By the end of his contract, he shouldn't have to play very many minutes. Between Hali, Nem, TJM and possibly Newton or another 2nd round PG if needed. TJM just needs to go for 12-15 minutes. And by the time it comes to that, his contract will look like pennies the way things are going

Based on his leadership, being a fan favorite and this year proving you can play him in the playoffs(which was not the case last year), this is a great signing. TJ continues to
improve his game which is impressive considering his
            age.

As far as the 500 error, when I hit post and it pops up I just hit the refresh button and it posts. One extra step

Peck is basically omniscient when it comes to understanding how the minds of Herb Simon and Kevin Pritchard work. I was a fool to ever question him and now feel deep shame for not understanding that this team believes in continuity above talent.

I'm assuming the answer is probably yes, if we also move on from Myles next summer, which I think is probably the right move. Would be curious to hear an updated financial outlook from you.
One thing people tend to forget is that we don't start paying Mathurin next season. He is on the final deal of his rookie contract. We can still pay Turner to bring back next year and make some bigger decisions at the start of the 2026-27 season.

Mathurin will be a restricted free agent so we can match any offer. Not to mention, if Mathurin breaks out the way that we hope, then you create cap-room by moving Toppin or Nesmith.

The one thing this deal does signal to me is that I-Jax has a very slim chance of returning.

What McConnell did in the Knicks series was masterful, especially game 7. I would hate him if he wasn't a Pacer

I have zero faith a 36-37 year old TJ is an actual NBA player lol. It's not pennies, it's still going to be a solid amount higher than the minimum. At least 3-6 times that by then.

Meant to change the 2 to a 3 and add a 6 at the end there, but can't edit things around here any more. (3-6 times the minimum by then, based on how his contract either increases or decreases)

likely it was either a longer deal or more per year...i guess he's not SUPER dependent on athleticism, so his game could age OK

Thing 1: Don't ever mess with team chemistry.

Thing 2: Show the rest of the league we're more focused on a championship than payroll.

We'll see fewer monster slam dunks, though.
