Flip is better than any shooting guard we have on our roster.

If we signed him as a pg the only thing thing it is a sign of is that our management is clueless still.
"They could turn out to be only innocent mathematicians, I suppose," muttered Woevre's section officer, de Decker.

"'Only.'" Woevre was amused. "Someday you'll explain to me how that's possible. Seeing that, on the face of it, all mathematics leads, doesn't it, sooner or later, to some kind of human suffering."

I agree about the clueless FO....but at most.....IMHO....Flip would be comprable to Kareem. If he was better then Rush....who is playing at an exceptional level given his payscale.....then he would have gotten minutes ahead of Affalo and Stuckey.

Either way....I could see this making sense if we intended to keep him long term....but given that we have ZERO minutes at the SG/SF rotation...and I have never heard of him as a decent PG option....this move would make no sense.

On top of that...if the Clippers are interested in him....I could see him going to LA...not only cuz it's Sunny LA....but he will likely get more minutes in a less congested Guard rotation now that Cassell is gone.

Then why not give minutes to Graham if we need another GF in the lineup?

          We're already paying him $$$.

Man after looking at his stats, he is a horrible 3pt shooter, and really his FG% isnt much better. I havent really had a chance to watch him play, but everyone says he cant dribble. So what good is he going to be?

Agree, I enjoy watching Graham. He gives everything hes got. I would like to see him get 15mins a game.

I think this means that JT's knee problem is worse than originally thought, and that neither Owens nor Daniels is an adaquate back up to Diener....I still feel that this summer will mark he last games for Tinsley, Williams, Harrison and Owens in a Pacers uniform. Daniels is another possibility.

Re: Pacers to sign Flip Murray?

My hope is that the addition of Murray is for end of the bench purposes.

Otherwise, how will minutes be doled out now?

I don't particularly like Quis at the point, but I think he's been playing well the last week or so. Does that mean he hits the pine if Flip will log backup PG minutes?

If Quis stays in the rotation elsewhere, who gets the PT reduction? Rush? Graham? Certainly not MDJ or DG. I like Rush and Graham getting consistent minutes.
I'd rather die standing up than live on my knees.

Re: Pacers to sign Flip Murray?

OFF TOPIC RANT ALERT! just a fare warning... im sick of people saying jammal, harrison, and williams and forgetting about Daniels.

I don't understand why this williams thing is such a huge deal and the daniels thing just gets brushed over. To me daniels is the #2 guy who needs to go after tinsley. He was at club rio, that "assault" incedent with tinsley at that other bar, and now we hear a house guest of his raped someone at his house... I mean, rape and murder are pretty much eqaul on the heinous crimes list I think. Even if he is only guilty by association, just like williams.

Williams is young enough that I would give him another chance, but if we do get rid of him we better get something back, at least a late first. If we just release him I will be pissed. Trading him for DJ white would be a good PR move... (in which case Digou needs to go, we don't need two 6-8 PFs)

I think if Tinsley, Daniels, and Harrison are gone shawne might be able to stay under the radar, but he is definatly on his last strike. We will need a good PR draft pick and NO MORE INCEDENTS to make that work.

Why sign Murray if we need a PG? If we need a PG you go out and sign Cassell.. He's still got plenty in the tank, and is still available.

Either we aren't looking to replace the PG position (Possibly SG?) or TPTB is worse then we thought.. Why sign Murray over all the other guys available if it is in fact the PG position we would sign him for.. Or is it to replace Williams? We are left in the dark too much, yet another reason to not like the management.

Yeah, me too. What was the Derek Bell plan a few years ago, Operation Shutdown?

Cassell probably did/does not want to come here. He would much prefer to go to a team like Boston (if he is not already there by now).

Murray, on the other hand, may not of had as many choices. Who knows? With the way TPTB are doing things, they may have offered a two-year deal.

I agree with whoever said we should give these minutes to Stephen Graham. Murray isn't bringing anything more to the table than he is, and we'd be developing Stephen for the future. Maybe he has some point skills we're unaware of, but who knows.

I'm convinced Flip is our backup PG, so this won't affect Stephen Graham unless they give that up and try him at 2.
