Is Myles Turner Worth it? Or do our other Big Men need to step up their game?

Can we also consider that Goga's numbers come 99% in garbage time against garbage players ??

Exactly, so that's why no extension has been reached. As much as he is looking to prove what he is worth to the league, we are telling him to prove if he is worth keeping around.

I did not leave his blocks out, the only positive, but outside rimprotection he's a negative defender.

Dude, I even put it in capital letters, lol. Goga cannot defend WITHOUT FOULING, you compared all their numbers except that one.

Regardless of Goga vs Theis vs Turner comparisons (and I think Turner is the best player), Turner won't and shouldn't be on the team next year, and therefore needs to be traded. Unless he somehow turns into a top 5 center in the league who can physically compete with physical centers (he won't), then he just won't be worth the money (to the Pacers) that he will command in his next contract.

The Pacers are a rebuilding team, and center is the least important part of that rebuild. A physical center who can rebound at a high level and play decent defense will be just as effective for this team, for half the cost of Turner. Add to that the Pacers' current competitive level, all the trade rumors year on year, and constant questions surrounding the Pacers commitment to him, and I doubt that he would sign an extension unless it's just stupid money.

It's obvious that there is no realistic scenario where the Pacers and Turner will be together after this year, so he's got to go. That's why I said play Goga.

I remember him being thought of more as a potential Turner/Domas hybrid than a Joker-lite. Some of that playmaking/feel for the game stuff has flashed but been inconsistent. The elite rim protection though has been there from the start. When on the court, he's one of the best shot blockers in the world. If he can iron out other parts of his game, the rim protection will keep him in the league.

He's clearly way too good to play in Europe.

Besides injury issues, my biggest knock on him is that he can't set a pick worth a $*&^. Other than that, he seems solid when on the floor for more than 2 minutes

He just needs to find a consistent means of scoring when he's out there. Obviously he's been trying to add a reliable three point shot, but I think he's naturally more comfortable closer to the basket. Which is totally fine -- he's a center.

I broke that news in June. I should be an insider.

The Lakers‘ trade talks with the Pacers continued this week, but they’re not willing to meet Indiana’s demand of two unprotected first-round picks, sources tell Shams Charania of The Athletic (video link). The Pacers have been seen as a possible destination for Russell Westbrook, with L.A. hoping to land Myles Turner and Buddy Hield in return. The Lakers only have two first-rounders that they can offer — in 2027 and 2029 — and Charania expects the team to be cautious about moving them. He points out that L.A. has a “long runway” with Westbrook and can wait to see how the season plays out rather than rushing into a deal. Pacers general manager Chad Buchanan said earlier today that he expects Turner to be with the team when the season begins.
