This is how I see it. But I would be willing to try assuming Domas takes a secondary role.

Caris I would be sad to see leave, but I think we can afford it or Lamb and a pick
Only way we can bring in Ben successfully is if Brogdon is headed out. Can't have 2 mentally weak "alpha" players like Ben and Brogdon on the same team and be successful.

^^I think Brogdon HAS to be the first player in the trade and then another scorer. An interesting tidbit I found in one of the articles posted....."During Monday's edition of The Lowe Post, Marks speculated Oct. 18 could be a telling benchmark as to whether Indiana is serious in its pursuit of Simmons.

"That's the last day for players like [Brogdon] and [LeVert] to get extended because they've got two years left on their contract," Mark said at the 52:23 mark. "Once they get extended, they're off the board if that's in place."

There is probably a lot of pressure on the Sixers to get something done before the season starts too.

I'm not so sure about that. I think it's more likely that they wait and see how the team starts the season without him. If they're winning games, they can afford to wait until after December when more players are available for trades and other teams start getting desperate. That would also put the screws to Ben and his mgmt team...

Given that they're technically not paying Simmons, I think they'll hold off for a while
"So, which one of you guys is going to come in second?" - Larry Bird before the 3 point contest. He won.

I'm thinking the same way as well. But I'm 50/50 on this.

I recognize that the guy is a headcase and that the Pacers will always end up overpaying to acquire such a Player. I also recognize that the roster would be gutted to acquire him, which would likely translate into another lost season.

But then I can see that if the Pacers were to make a huge gamble like this; they'd be doing something that many of us have been pushing for over the last couple of seasons....trying to swing for the fences instead of settling for getting on base. I'm sick of running on this tired old tread mill for the last 6 or 7 seasons. Simmons is a gamble; but we know that if we do trade for him...it would mean that the Pacers are making a huge change that will translate into a lost season but also more changes to build around him. I want change and acquiring Simmons translates into legit and actual change that this team desperately needs. It will generate a lot of interest on the local level to be sure.

It sounds like Simmons to the Pacers is a long shot, so I'm not going to be disappointed if they strike out on him. But if the Pacers do somehow acquire him? I'm not going to complain and just pray that it translates into the "big reset" that many of us have been pining for.

Break him into the Hoosier lifestyle.

Take him to Edward's and get him a jumbo tenderloin. With onion rings. And a shake.

Hell no to including LeVert in any deal for Simmons.

Brogdon, Justin Holiday, Jeremy Lamb, and 1st rounder would be my max offer.

On average LeVert plays in 66% of games per season. On average Brogdon players 75% of games per season. Unless Brogdon is really a major locker room issue, I see absolutely no reason why anyone would want to trade Brogdon over LeVert. Brogdon is both the better player and the more healthy player. Having Brogdon play next to Simmons would put him back into a similar role he had when he joined the 50-40-90 club in Milwaukee.

People love LeVert even if he is sitting at home injured again.

Sixers: "Hey Pritchard I would like to send you our multiple all team player and our multiple all star for multiple times injured and is never able to play LeVert, deal?"

Pritch: "I would love to do it but there is a group of people in PD that have a mancrush on him so I can't do it, sorry"

Simmons is huge gamble with that contract. He's paid like a superstar but he's far from one. I doubt if he'll ever be the #1 scoring option on any good team and yes I know he plays great D but not on a level that justifies his huge contract. You're paying for potential due to Simmons age if you take on that contract and you have to hope he lives up to it. I'm fine with taking the gamble but not if it means giving up more than 2 solid starter level players which doesn't include our only all star player. Look at what we received for Paul George who was a much better player when we moved him. I doubt if Dipo had more value than Brogdon does now and Sabonis was a bench player at the time and we received no damn picks. I know that PG was at the end of his contract and Simmons still has 4 years left but PG wasn't refusing to play for us either. If you give up 2 starters to get Simmons I don't think a pick should be in play.
Why do teams tank? Ask a Spurs fan.
