i would only gamble on trading for him if they accepted either of the below trade scenarios:

Myles + Lamb + Justin

or

Brogdon + Lamb + Justin

for

Simmons + 2021 1st round pick

If not, then pass. Ignoring all of his now fully exposed flaws in his game, a HUGE problem is that he is owed between $33 to 40 mil PER YEAR for the next 4 seasons ( all guaranteed ). The only reason why I am willing to gamble on him is simply because this team has to have a Starting Quality PG that can run the offense. We can't progress to the next level without that. The gamble is that you can hide his huge flaws. But the problem is that you have to live with his flaws for 4 seasons.

I definitely get your point that now would be a great time to go after a guy like him. My concern is that his shooting issues are mental. This is a time where even though we need a star player, we need more mental toughness on this team too. What also concerns me is that his numbers seem to take a slight dip every year he’s been in the league. This past season was his worst year. We’d almost be getting him solely for his defense. I don’t think that’s worth his salary. I’d be willing to bet Philly would be interested in Brogdon though.
