New trade suggestion has Sixers moving star Ben Simmons to Pacers

As the Philadelphia 76ers pick up the pieces following their second-round playoff exit, they have limited options to improve the roster: the draft and the trade market. The biggest asset Philadelphia possesses is 24-year-old All-Star Ben Simmons, who could probably use a…

I'd be more focused on Beal. If Washington is rebuilding, Sabonis or Turner and #13 would be good package starters.
I don't totally disagree, but Morey traded CP3 to the Thunder for Westbrook just a couple offseasons ago. If the deal works for Philly, I don't think they're that worried about the Pacers. Either way, I don't think KP is making a move for Simmons.

Over at 8.9secs he has two trades to get Simmons but in both he gives a 2022 unprotected 1st and not this years. I think he sees this pick is too valuable as the Pacers
never draft in the lottery recently and the draft is very deep
    I concur

You think that a Team that had the best record in the East is going to look at their situation and think to themselves that they are going to rebuild instead of continuing to build around Embiid?

I totally agree with you that Embiid is going to be injury prone and a real concern for the rest of his career. The guy really reminds me of Greg Oden lumbering around while walking off the court. But the reality is that Simmons wasn't the main reason why the Sixers made it to the 2nd round of the Playoffs, it was an injured and hobbled Embiid.

All signs point to the Sixers getting a very solid return in exchange for Simmons. They won't likely get an All star level Player, but they are going to get another Starter in return that will likely fit around their existing core. To me, that translates into a Franchise that thinks that they are closer to a Championship than they are to tearing it all down and rebuilding.

Just saying, but the Wizards got farther under a Beal/Westbrook combo after the trade than the Pacers did.

I could totally see the Wizards looking at their success from bottom of the Eastern Conference to the 8th spot in the Playoffs cuz of the addition of Westbrook. It's not hard that the Wizards FO think to themselves that they have a solid foundation to build upon with Beal and Westbrook.

Sure you would probably have to sweeten the pot with a draft pick but in the end unless you are convinced that at 13 you are going to get a steal, what draft pick going forward would be equal to Ben Simmons even as flawed as he is.

Now understand this, if he didn't have these flaws he wouldn't even be on the block. But let's say he wanted out of there if he didn't have the flaws we would not even be in any conversation for him at all. As a reminder just a few months ago he was considered the centerpiece of a trade that would have brought in James Harden and Philly is the team that pulled the plug.

As CableKC has stated, yes you are going to have to overpay for him to come here but how many times in Pacers history have they had a chance to get a player like this period.

You want to know who filled in for Simmons when he was playing like "Simmons"?

    Maxey

You also want to know who is one of their best defenders ( outside of Simmons ) that's just played 2 seasons?

    Thybulle

I see no reason for them to continue to play the draft lottery to fill out their roster when they don't have a need for younger Players to fill out the bench. Makes no sense to me.
