Ahem, it’s called -dream- offseason thread.
The whole point of the thread is the best case scenario in the confines of reality, some of the posts on here are clearly not based in reality. We don’t have the cap space to sign 2 max level guys like so many posts are suggesting.
Did you know Antonio and Dale aren’t actually brothers?

I acknowledged in my first paragraph that we probably don't have the assets to complete both deals without including Sabonis. I was merely identifying targets and spitballing potential pieces to trade.

Actually, I think you're underestimating the Pacers potential cap room. If they renounce everyone, for example, they will have only 58 million in committed salary with an 109 million dollar salary cap. That's 51 Million in cap room. Subtract 15 million for a Bogie cap hold and it's still 36 Million in room. Jrue Holiday makes about 26 million and Aaron Gordon makes about 21 Million. If you send out Mcdermott and some of the guys on rookie deals you could absolutely take on both contracts, for example. That's the advantage of under the cap trades. Trade out 11 million and you could absorb 47 Million in contracts (while keeping Bogie).

I know the pessimism is strong around here but 51 million in cap room is a lot of dough. I don't expect the Pacers to renounce everyone but there is a ton of flexibility to deal or sign players.

Shooter? You mean a backdoor cut layup guy...I'm not convinced he can actually shoot.

I sure would love to find a way to bring in Kevon Looney.

The Warriors may not have a spot for him or the money to keep him. He would fit so well playing with either Turner, Sabonis or Young.

You think 39% from a guy only playing 17 minutes per game is not a shooter?

My thought right now is bring both Bojan and Thad back. Look how much better Domas and Myles are this year compared to last year. As much as I like our point guards, we need an upgrade there and no Holiday isn't ready to be a starter on a good team - a 12 minute a night back up to a really good point guard? yes, but nothing more next season. (I'm not even sure Holiday will ever be a significant difference maker - not that there is anything wrong with that)

He can't make 'em when it counts. He gets alot of shots up during the Pacers blow out losses.

Come up big in draft. Markus Howard is an overlooked PG who will certainly fall to us. Undersized scoring pg. (who has multiple 50 point games). I realize he could climb and scouts that know way more than me seem to think he’s not a good nba prospect. But it would be cool to have a pick with true upside. Next I would trade Sabonis for a pick and get a wing. But what ever happens my dream off-season is draft someone that can play over 20 min a game all year.

I am very interested in Malcolm Brogdon for the starting point spot. I would throw a lot of money at him to make it very hard for Milwaukee to want to keep him

I want to sign Randle to 4y/80m, then resign Bojan to 3yr/36m. I then want to make a big trade for Conley: whoever our 2019 pick is, Aaron Holiday, and Sabonis should get us close. Point being we end up with a starting 5 of:

                        Conley
                        Oladipo
                        Bojan
                        Randle
                        Turner

We can find the right bench players in free agency. I did something like this in NBA2k19 pretty easily (not sure how realistic that is) and it is AWESOME! Randle and Turner compliment each other perfectly, Bojan stretches the floor with the best of them, and we have the most dominant two-way backcourt in the East.

I see this as very possible. Conley was holding up the Utah trade because he wanted to go to Indy. We have cap space for someone like Randle when other teams are going for the top tier FAs. You can also replace the Randle signing with Middleton, and then re-sign Thad over Bojan. That would be amazing as well. I think Randle or Middleton are very realistic for us.

That puts us as a surefire ECF contender IMO

Edit: to make this work in 2k I had to re-sign DC/Thad/Tyreke and include them in the trade for Conley. This is incredibly unrealistic, but maybe there are other avenues through a third team of making the salaries work.

The theory I heard is that Milwaukee will not be able to afford to re-sign Middleton and match a high offer for Brogdon. They would have to chose and since Middleton is an all-star, that is most likely who they would chose.

I'm tired of the Pacers having an undersized point guard. We all ready have Vic as and undersized SG, although he is very good. Going with a 6'0" or 6'1" point guard beside Vic concerns me. I'd much rather see us get a 6'4" or bigger guy. Brogdon, Jrue Holiday, Beal. I don't think Beal or Holiday will be available, but Brogdon may be attainable.

There's no question we need some upgrades and that means that some of these guys that we like, we may have to let go or trade. Thad, Bojan or Sabonis may not be with us next season...if we really want to improve.

What I heard was it wasn't that he wanted to go to Indy, it was that he didn't want to be traded to the Western Conference.

I heard that too but it turned out to be a bogus report.

Conley was asked about that and he said he would play for anyone. He didn't know where the rumor started that he would not play in the West.
