Yeah his deal is hard to look at but peel a year or two off and you have another tradeable asset because he's a pretty decent player.

We will some how win 31 games and just miss a franchise pick in the 2018 draft.

I feel you, but it seems over the last 4 years or so, you'd only be content with Dale Davis, Antonio, Derrick Mckey, Reggie, and Mark Jackson being coached by Frank Vogel/defense first coach....... times are different, and they suck for the league as a whole.... It's crap, and I'm about done...... this isn't what I loved my whole previous 30 years....

I don't know if you were addressing this to me, but if you are. I would be more than happy with a team led by a committed Paul George and a great supporting cast with Miles Turner included. Would have loved to have seem what Pritch could have done building around PG

but we will never know now

And you have to admit that is Paul's fault. He did not even give Pritchard a chance to build a team.

I look at things differently then most people, I guess. I'm not looking to blame anyone. To me it is just sad, I don't have anger towards PG. Sure I hoped PG would give Pritch a chance to build around him through next season and then if he is still not convinced but still interested then sign a two year deal with a player option.

But I am not looking to blame PG. He'll always be remembered kindly by me. One of the best and one of my favorite Pacers of all time.

I don't understand the hatred for PG, but as I said I am different

I don't understand it either. He did us a favor. You can be mad that he isn't going to resign here for the rest of his career, I guess. Not many players do that though.

                        Re: Pacers roster without George

It's a wretched roster without PG, which is why we should just bench PG if all the Lakers offer is toilet ****. It will turn the tables on that arrogant prima Donna who has held our franchise hostage, while also giving us a great shot at a premium 2018 lottery pick.

Of course, being the Pacers, we'd probably still go on an April hot streak to get our win total up to 32 and screw our draft positon.

Just a thought to back up your point. What if PG did what I wanted, give Pritch 12 months to turn the team around, and Pritch goes out and makes a lot of short term trades to get good fast, takes on bad contracts, makes several risky moves all in order to appease PG. And after all that he signs with the Lakers a year from now. Then we are stuck with a bad roster that was solely built around PG and have several bad contracts.......we could be in a lot worse shape than we are now.

We don't have an real bad contract right now. AlJeff and Monta aren't good contracts, but those will be gone soon enough. This team is set to rebuild without spending two or three years just to get rid of contracts

It would have been a favor if he'd told KP privately once Bird was gone and as soon as PG knew he wasn't getting All-NBA. It ceased being a favor when it was not only leaked but his agent boldly informed teams to not bother trading for him because he would only sign with the Lakers. At that point, it became pissing on the Pacers and the fans.

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
Or throw in a first-round pick and flip it for a max-level point guard...

Yes, but the word still would have gotten out when PK started calling teams asking for everyone's offer for PG. Sure it might not be quite as open as it is now, but I think in the end it wouldn't have made a huge difference in what the pacers are going to get. According to Woj, it was common knowledge within the league that PG wanted to go to the Lakers.

His agent called teams in February & told them all he would not resign with them & he was only interested in Indiana & Los Angeles. That didn't stop ATL & DEN's massive offers + the other teams.
Same thing is happening now with a handful of teams making offers...the offers have just gone from great to ****.

If PG's agent doesn't leak this info Sunday, or before the draft, then we're mistakenly trading our 1st round pick...again.

Yea it sucks he isn't resigning but I would much rather him speak up an offseason in advance than to speak up next summer.
