I haven't looked at the roster recently, but I gave it a look today. Without PG there it looks pretty bad, I imagine wi will be in the top 10 drafting for at least the next two years, unless we try to really get some vet leadership with a PG trade, but I doubt that will happen.

Re: Pacers roster without George
We'll take a step back but I still think we can hit atleast 36 wins. We lose CJ, Teague, Brooks and Allen. Lot depends on what we get back from PG. Let's say we take the rumored Lakers trade. Randle>Allen, Clarkson>Brooks.
We will have 2 1st rounders and a 2nd to round out the roster. Barring no other roster changes.
Yes, we lose a lot of shooting losing CJ, Teague, and PG. But I feel Randle will help Turner out. Allows you to move Thad to the bench (or look to move him to the 3 (eek, maybe) having him come in with Big Al (whom I hope is slimming down). Also I think with PG gone Monta might go back to scoring. Plus Clarkson can score. So really I don't see us taking a hit on scoring.
The big worry is defense. PG was our best defender and CJ might have been our 3rd best defender. -
Re: Pacers roster without George
We've got vet leadership: Lance, Monta, and AlJeff.
I would try to trade Thad, though. He'll be more useful to a team trying to win now, and his contract is very tradeable, including a player option after 17-18 season. Get a late first for him, or a future first that might have a chance to be a little better.
Teague, Miles, Brooks, LaVoy = gone
Turner, GRIII, Joe Young, Christmas, even Niang can all get minutes next year and we can find out if they've got a future.
Fill in the gaps via draft with first rounder(s) that start on Day 1, and cheap 1-year deals for guys who need "prove-it" chances.
Going forward after next season, you've got Turner, whoever we draft in the next two years, and whoever makes it out of the aforementioned group of youngster - and all the cap space in the world. It's a new day for Pacers Basketball.Comment

Re: Pacers roster without George
As long as Pritchard just doesn't start mismanaging all the cap we will have after 2018 on rotational players that just take up space ala Larry Bird for the past 3 seasons. We should be in pretty good position to draft some young talent and or trade for some stars. You can't get champagne from a garden hose.Comment

Re: Pacers roster without George
If we don't make any major moves other than trade Paul for young assets, and don't retain Teague we most likely won't win more than 30 games. If we can make a splash in free agency, and re-sign Teague I think we could come back next year with over 36+ wins depending on how big of a splash we make in FA.Comment

Re: Pacers roster without George
26 wins? The lakers last year got 26 wins, Magic got 29, 76ers with injures got 28. Pretty sure we can easily pass 26Comment

Re: Pacers roster without George
We should most definitely be trying to flip Thad Young for a pick. He's just about our only tradeable asset outside of PG and Myles. I'd hang onto GRIII for now.
Thad Young to Portland for Allen Crabbe and #15 is something that might make a lot of sense. I could be talked into #20 if they don't bite on #15. Portland is already trying to attach a pick to get rid of that contract and Thad is a productive player who can start for you, short contract.Last edited by Infinite MAN_force; 06-20-2017, 11:15 PM."As a bearded man, i was very disappointed in Love.
