As it stands, he's arguably better or as good as Jimmy Butler, Haywood, Carmelo, etc. Damn...did he forget that the team was without their starting stretch-4 for the past six games????? The Thad Young injury hurts, because Indiana was forced to play traditional bigs in a forever changing NBA that loves the 3PT shot. Also, it wasn't like he lighting the world on fire with HIS performance in the last two games.

Having Teague and Turner is a d*mn good starting point for this team. Honestly, I mostly dismissed the six game losing streak as bad timing of the schedule and injuries. It is what it is.
Paul is a mystery to me. He plays the game like he isn't that good. As talented as he is SUPPOSED to be, he should regularly be hitting 25-30ppg. He doesn't seem capable of that level of production. I think those who said he had limited offensive skills are looking more correct every day.

It's amazing how quickly some people will turn on a player when he's playing on a team that's currently starting Lavoy Allen and Kevin Seraphin at PF, has essentially 3 good players around him in Teague, Turner, and Thad Young, and then a bunch of spare parts--including two high paid ball dominant guards (Ellis, Stuckey) who can't shoot in a league that now requires it.

Paul George isn't playing well, but on the Pacers list of problems, he's not anywhere near the top of the list.

You are kind of making our point, hopefully Larry sends him to GS or Cavs so he can finally be happy.

Reggie Miller started with a lot less. Next question?

Do people forget that Reggie Miller started out immature and had his own growing pains or were you all born in the year 2000?

I don't see how this team can become a title contender before the time comes for PG to make a decision.

Of course, only Golden State and Cleveland are contenders right now, anyway.

The fact Miller started with a lot less and worked to better the franchise has nothing to do with Paul's ridiculous escapades. I am talking about the talent the Pacers have put around Paul George.

Paul's had multiple shots at reaching the finals and he's still just 26. He's played on far better teams. Reggie Miller didn't even make the ECF until he was 28 years old...the first team he ever had that was much better than a .500 team.

Some born in the year 2000 may not remember that.

Yeah, this is the real issue here. I don't see any moves that Larry can make *right now* that are just going to take us from frustratingly inconsistent to sudden powerhouse. I think the key has to be that he is bold enough with some moves and maneuvers that he shows Paul and the rest of the team he is serious about adjusting course now that things aren't panning out. If Paul sees that Larry isn't just going to stubbornly sit idly by and wait for his "vision" to magically start working in the evolving NBA - I think he stays.

By stating that this Pacers team is fairly mediocre? Especially when one of those '3 good players' is all of 20 years old?

I think people are excited about this season and are looking for a scapegoat, but really should be looking at the coaching hire and whether the pieces of this roster actually fit. Not to mention, you lost two of your best defenders (Hill and Mahinmi).

As Sollozo has been saying forever every team in the NBA is mediocre out of GS/Cavs, cry baby PG is never going to be happy unless he gets traded to GS and Cleveland that's it.

This is the same argument that people use to complain about Marvin Harrison. "He played with Peyton Manning." Who was he supposed to play with Ryan Leaf?

Was Paul George supposed to demand a worse team? They went to Game 7's and 6's with the World Champion Miami Heat, who also happened to HAVE THE BEST PLAYER ON THE ENTIRE PLANET IN HIS PRIME when George was what 22, 23? Not to mention, a future Hall of famer Dwayne Wade and a consistent All-Star in Chris Bosh.

                        Remember this moment?

For all of the talk about these great teams, as a rundown of their core players, one just signed a 10 day contract (Lance), one's close to being an afterthought in the league (Roy), and the other (West) two years later is on his last legs, chasing championships--so it's not like this was exactly the 'Dream Team' either in retrospect.

Again, prior to 2000. Paul has never missed the playoffs except his injury season. Except for his rookie and injured seasons, Paul has always been on a team with a winning record. What Paul wants is what LeBron has...but PAUL ISN'T THAT GOOD. I think it's best he try to fit in somewhere and lead a team...or just ride coat tails like the rest of the losers of this era.

So Paul has consistently led teams that have won? He should've led opposing teams that lost instead?

This in no way makes me want to trade Paul George right now. If Paul makes an all nba team and I think he will then the contract that the Pacers can offer him is insanely higher than any other team. Paul's raise next year alone is $14 millions more than he would make without the extension and in addition to that the Pacers can pay him $44 million more than any other team for the same number of years. I don't see Paul George leaving that kind of money on the table but if he does turn it down then yes, next summer is the time to trade him. Right now there is nothing to worry about.
Why do teams tank? Ask a Spurs fan.
