Gabe Holmes out for year per J & C. Is this the second TE that we've lost for the season or just the first? I thought there was one earlier

First I think, but there's a ton of freshmen listed at TE's so maybe one slipped through the cracks. Either way, Sinz looked pretty good against ND, hopefully won't miss a beat. Even good ole Patrick Bade got a catch against ND!

and speaking of stepping the game up for hoops targets, Painter had Tyler Davis in for the ND game, a big 2015 center from Texas that's ranked between 50 and 20 nationally depending on the service you prefer. those're the kind of kids we need to go after, it was an unofficial so he came on his own dime so it must be at least somewhat serious given the distance.

thanks; no, I thought I remembered a first/second-stringer being out, so this must be the same guy, luckily. Depth is already a little suspect at that position.

I saw Bade in the box score. Good for him. He wasn't great at basketball, but he wasn't notably worse than some others who stayed/are staying for 4 years I thought.

If AJ plays his way into a top 15 or so pick (I know, long shot probably), that has to help with future bigs we are recruiting I assume. (And if Tacos plays his way into the draft...)

so anyone know if Knauf is really pronounced with a hard K? I'd never heard it said aloud before this year and always just assumed the K was silent and it was "nowf" or "naugh," but every announcer's pronouncing the K. just seems weird to pronounce the K.

Yeah, I think if they were competitive they'd be in there by now. Of course, they could just REALLY want Etling to redshirt.

Hummel's going to camp with the Timberwolves again. They have 14 guaranteed contracts, so it looks like he'll be fighting Lorenzo Brown and Othyus Jeffers for the 15th spot. If he doesn't make it this year he may just say screw it and focus on Europe, he had a pretty damn good year in Spain's top league last year. Eventually you gotta weigh a multi year contract of good pay to play big minutes in the 2nd best league in the world or sitting on the end of an NBA bench on an unguaranteed contract.

yeah, it's not so much the decision to transfer, he wasn't going to play much the rest of his time at Purdue most likely, and he's got a little girl to take care of him. D1 ball's a major time commitment, lot of time away from home. its just the timing that's weird, you'd think he'd have done it months ago. oh well, either way I wish him well. he waited 2 years just to play for Purdue, poor guy had to wait longer than he actually got to play.

Hale's going to D2 Bellarmine in Louisville. Good for him, he'll be close to New Albany and play right away.
