All the IU fans I know would love it if we hired a coach who can coach,
who can run an offense and a defense,
who can get a decent percentage of top high school players from within 150 miles of Bloomington to come here,
who is not a known sleazeball,

The poster "pacertom" since this forum began (and before!). I changed my name here to "Slick Pinkham" in honor of the imaginary player That Bobby "Slick" Leonard picked late in the 1971 ABA draft (true story!).

So who are the transfers as it stands right now?
Nuntius was right for a while. I was wrong for a while. But ultimately I was right and Frank Vogel has been let go.

Well, all the walk-ons are gone. Etherington and Hollowell are gone. That's it, for now.

I see Marlin is transferring but I don't see anything about others. I'm not even sure who the walk-ons are on the team...

That's as close as I can get. Link is to a premium forum I'm not privy to.

Alford is two games away from the Final Four. If he gets there don't think there won't be lots of people around Bloomington pining for him to come coach. Regardless of his personality.

Maybe, but would he want to come here if he continues to succeed at UCLA? UCLA is a major program and it's in beautiful sunny California. There's a lot of pressure there, but the pressure is different than it would be at Indiana. At Indiana, he would be the prodigal son coming home to coach his alma mater. That's a lot of pressure, and it would be ugly if it didn't end well. If I'm him, I'm staying in LA.

I don't want to entertain that thought.

I think the Alford to IU ship has sailed. Although he might be more 'ready' for IU now at this point in his career. The problem now is as Sollozzo pointed out, he's got a pretty good job and a good team right now.

It's like all the whispers that said there was one college job Stevens would leave Butler for and that was IU. But now he's coaching the Celtics so that IU job might not be the brass ring it once was for him.

                            Sometimes timing is everything...

I doubted he would leave as well, but a lot of IU faithful are looking for a savior and I'm sure his name will get tossed around the more success he has at UCLA.

I've never had anything more than "sports hate" for IU, always respected them and all that. If they hired Alford I'd actively root for the program to to be nuked. Alford is scum.
