Yes. Apparently Trey Lyles' dad really likes Stevens. I've heard rumors that Trey is considering Butler as a favor to Trevon Bluiett as they are good friends and AAU teammates. I don't see why Butler would pass on him either. Great player who would make Butler a favorite to make the Indianapolis Final Four for the 2nd straight time.

You don't see why Butler would pass on Trey Lyles? His dad being a raging lunatic who expected IU to give him a coaching job doesn't scare you at all?

As far as somebody liking Stevens, who wouldn't? But that doesn't mean much.

I guess I can't see Butler passing on him if it actually came to pass, that being said I doubt Stevens will lose much sleep either way. The kid is going to Kentucky and if he doesn't land at Kentucky he's probably going to land at another shady *** place so I guess UCLA has a good shot.

        Re: 2012-2013 NCAA Basketball Thread

When it comes to recruits, as long as there isn't anything that could get my team sanctioned, I don't care why a player is considering a school. If Trey Lyles is considering Butler because his dad has an imaginary elf that tells him Brad Stevens is the Messiah, I'd be all for it if it ends up with Lyles coming here. I'd say his Kentucky odds are 1:100 and everywhere else is 10,000:1, but nothing his dad could do would concern me. I do think Lyles genuinely likes Butler but has better places to be a one-and-done at so he won't come here.

How in the world is Arizona still in the top 10? They'll probably end up a 2 or 3 seed in the West region, people will pick them to reach the Elite 8 or Final 4 and they'll lose the first weekend.

Sounds like typical Arizona to me. Especially if they end up with a #2 seed.

Kansas found out how to right the ship-

play a team coached by Bruce Weber!
The poster "pacertom" since this forum began (and before!). I changed my name here to "Slick Pinkham" in honor of the imaginary player That Bobby "Slick" Leonard picked late in the 1971 ABA draft (true story!).

Nerlens Noel just hurt his knee coming down after a block. He was down holding it for a good while, in clear pain. Got carried off by teammates.

i missed the play where it happened. however after seeing his rail-thin body, i suspect he will get busted up frequently in the pros. he just looks frail. anthony davis was skinny but noel almost makes him look like karl malone.

I agree his frame isn't thick/wide enough. It is a weird body type. I haven't really seen anyone built like Noel really small shoulders and frame but not thin as a rail like a Henson. However he was playing so much harder than he did in HS he was coming around one of the best shot blockers I have seen just great feet.

It was ugly good chance his knee is torn.

It didn't look good. Freak play though. I don't like the way pad sticks out like that at Florida.

Indiana State probably going down to.a really bad Mo St team. So much for that at large bid

ISU lost to MO State. If they can't keep from following up a strong game with a crap game, forget the dance.

There was a brief, and very decisive, and altogether unprecedented, outburst of genuine officiating, and it was directed at the best player in the world, and that, my dear young person, simply is not done."

Indiana State just moved to the wrong side of the bubble. What a shame.

So it looks like Noel collided with a cameraman? These cameramen sit way too freaking close to the court. Remember when Collison got injured by tripping over a cameraman two years ago in the Bulls series? He was playing some really good ball in that series before he got hurt. Cameramen shouldn't be allowed to sit so close. It's a disaster waiting to happen.

No he got hurt because he collided with the square shaped pad and its backing at the bottom of the basket support. His body got caught up but the momentum appeared to shear his knee. Typically in the big ten, the pads are not square so it is easier for a players momentum to carry them over, is the square shaped pad an SEC thing or a Florida thing? Either way I think it is dangerous in situations just like we saw last night.
