Honestly, I can say I am proud that even the most undermanned, crappy IU teams never laid down and took a beating like that from Purdue at Assembly Hall.

I told the guys I was watching the game with that Hammons had the lowest impact 30 point game I've ever seen.

Man that was ****ing awesome to watch. I love winning. I love winning against Purdue more. I love winning at Mackey even more. But embarrassing the Boilers by 37 on their home court? Holy ****. That was a blast. The hype for that Michigan game is going to hit a fever pitch. One thing is for sure: It's not going to be a defensive struggle. They are going to try to run with us and I really, really like that.

i even liked hearing Jim Jackson whine about Calbert going 2-0 against him in '91. That was a great rivalry back in the day.
Why do the things that we treasure most, slip away in time
Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

Jimmy Jackson is a solid commentator.

a very impressive win. probably the best road game played all season.
                almost everyone contributed.
not many bone-headed passes to complain about.

He may have had some impact on Zeller's draft stock and the continuing questions on his ability to defend the 5 at the next level.

Anything that keeps Zeller and Victor around for another year is fine by me.

As for Hammonds... the other 11 coaches all know who he is now. I expect to see defensive gameplans focused on him going forward. He was hot offensively, but I don't recall (I could be wrong...) IU ever double-teaming him. If they fronted the post, he got some nice backdoor opportunities. His challenge will be responding to more defensive focus. Hammnons certainly has a better NBA-ready body than Cody has, at least for playing the "5".

Hopefully we beat them by at least 25-30 at Assembly Hall. How awesome would it be if we outscored Purdue by a combined 60 points in our two matchups?

Problem is there are even bigger questions about Zeller's ability to defend the 4 at the next level.

Then I think he should stay at IU as long as possible!

(I generally agree - offensively, he might be NBA-ready. Body-wise, and defending the post, not there yet...)

Not surprising at all. Yogi is an excellent defender, despite his size. Oladipo will check Hardaway and Hulls will be parked on the shooter, Stauskas.

Michigan presents some serious match-up problems.

Yogi sticks on Burke. OK. Then who does Jordy guard? Everyone else is 6'6".

As much as I hate the zone, we might need to use it quite a bit if we want Hulls to be an asset in this game.

Then again, Cody SHOULD clean up inside. I can't wait!
The poster "pacertom" since this forum began (and before!). I changed my name here to "Slick Pinkham" in honor of the imaginary player That Bobby "Slick" Leonard picked late in the 1971 ABA draft (true story!).
