Join the crew. I had a migraine for most of the 4th quarter, but seeing the Fever get it done was worth every bit of it!

        Re: 2012 Indiana Fever Thread

I believe Mr. Vogel once had a little something to say about the fear that can be generated by a relentless underdog that just...keeps...coming, eh? The Indiana Fever embodied that in this postseason run. Awesome. I hope it inspired our Pacers! Some of the players are close (like Catch and George Hill), so that's a definite possibility.

This next 12 months is gonna be a good time for Indiana basketball. Thanks to the Fever for starting it off with a BANG!

The Fever proved that a team can beat a group of stars. And that's what the Pacers need to do too. I'm happy. And I've been celebrating a little too much. But I'm happy, and it's really nice to be happy.

What a great night, capping it off with finding out it was Mel's birthday was fantastic.

My favorite crowd sign was the set that said "I got a cowbell and it can only be cured by MORE FEVER!"

I could allllllmmmmmmmmooooooooost make an argument for Erlana Larkins to get a nod for series MVP because I really think her contribution was the missing piece the Fever have needed for a long time - and kudos to Coach Dunn for having the guts to make such a HUGE lineup switch in the playoffs then sticking with it. When it comes right down to it, though, the MVP is the opne who puts you on her shoulders and carries you to the finish - no question that was Catch.

They didn't print up anywhere near enough championship t-shirts, so they ran out long before we could get to one. The hat is what I really want.

Or throw in a first-round pick and flip it for a max-level point guard...

I think a case could have been made for both Larkins and Shavante.

Also, this is why trying to always be in contention is better than just flopping out. No one thought the Lynx were going down this year, but it happened. You have to give yourself the chance to make history.

Erin and January were fantastic too. Offensively and defensively.

The whole team was great, but Catch was the best player on the floor in every single game.

                      Re: 2012 Indiana Fever Thread

Yes, it really was a team effort. Zellous, January, Phillips, Larkins - they were all pretty good and each had moments when they stepped forward to make a big play. All of them were instrumental to securing the championship.

But Catch is the heart and soul of this team. The intensity and toughness everybody played with - Catch is the center of that, and when the Lynx made their runs Catch came through with a clutch basket each time. Is there any doubt that with all the injuries they've persevered through, an injury to Catch would have been the one they couldn't get past? She talked to the NBA TV crew after the game and told a story about how she went into halftime and laid into her team a little bit. "...to see what we did on Friday, to come out here, to get a lead, then let them back into the game - that's just not acceptable. All my teammates, you could see their eyes get wide, like OK - Catch is pissed off, we need to figure out what to do...they definitely responded."

There ya go. The leader of a championship team.

                      Tamika Catchings. MVP!

The Fever made 72 of 78 free throws in the finals. That is amazing.

This is kind of cool, especially the drive and kick from Catch to January and the Zellous three + crowd reaction. All at half speed or so.

I loved this, especially Catch's Reggie story and Bri's passion (though Bri slips a bit, so slight NSFW warning).
