Louisville can prevent an IU-UK game at the KFC Yum! center and Freedom Hall is a dusty 56-year-old barn that would not add the revenue that a better site would.

The compromise offer was that each team makes only one real road trip in 4 years. It means that IU students and ticket holders will get to see at least one IU-UK matchup on campus in 4 years. IU AD Glass said as much: "Glass said that was acceptable to Indiana because it would allow the freshman class that arrives next year to see at least one game on campus in their four-year careers."

Kentucky was likely totally confused by the entire concept of a "four-year career"

I am fine with playing teams of student-athletes and letting that smarmy lying cheater coaching in Lexington keep aiming for his undefeated season, that eventually will get vacated.
The "compromise" if you even wanted to call it that from Glass couldn't have gotten much better for UK either. Two straight games in the next two years (when UK is at the height of it's recruiting power) at LOS, which Cal desperately covets because even though Darren believes UK has the pick of the litter in the state of Indiana and gets "any recruit they want", Cal clearly would love to have more of a presence here. Then in year 3, we were going to go TO RUPP, and then finally in year 4 back to Assembly Hall. So, the "compromise" that Glass put in front was pretty much as Wildcat friendly as you could get without bending over, applying the lube yourself, and allowing them to have their way with you.

Cal was cleared by the NCAA- one thing you IU fans have in common is a jealousy of UK....it reflects in your posts.

Just do a little research before you post- Academics====check which school has a better APR...Banners, all time wins, head to head wins, etc.

The emotional posts from you guys are quite entertaining.
This past year IU graduated more guys in one May, 7, (all 5 seniors, plus Hulls and Elston graduating early), than UK has graduated during Cal's entire tenure there.

Jealous of Kentucky? Nah, I'm perfectly happy where IU is right now, along with our historical success of the 70's, 80's and early 90's. Heck even in our down decade we still made a national title game appearance.

We have one thing that Cal desperately wants, that last perfect season. And his decision to drop us from the schedule right now clearly reflects his hope that he can obtain that.

It's worthless to strongly recruit a guy to play for you to only have him leave after his first year. It's not that he can't get the talent, he's just not interested in those guys like Cal is... Different philosophies. I'm disappointed UK won't make a deal but it's obviously not IU's fault and Kentucky can't run away in the tournament. It's not like IU is going to dominate Kentucky, we just want the rivalry to continue like it has been, both teams are very strong.
I agree with most of this comment. But the bolded portion is obviously not true.

Those guys you mentioned are fantastic ball players, and from what I have read great kids as well. I absolutely have much respect for Cody Zeller. Passing up riches to play college ball for another year. I thought he might be tempted to enter at the same time of his brother.

As far as answering your post, the comment about UK getting any recruits they want from Indiana was an exaggeration. Historically they have had some big time success there however. All of the negative posts about UK fired me up a little bit.

I think Kyle will get some big minutes this year. He has a ton of talent and is a good kid as well.

The last thing I want to do is offend anyone here---at the same time I am from Kentucky and went to school there. I am a Pacers fan so I like reading the comments about the team and saw this thread.

I was very surprised that he made the comment about the perfect season. In this day and age I just dont see it happening.

UK graduated both of their seniors this year...and I believe that their team GPA was a little north of 3.0.

That's been more like 15 years. He was Mr. Basketball in 1997. We went and watched the Indiana/Kentucky All Star game that year and they had a moment of silence.

No. John Stewart died in 1999 and was runner-up for Mr. Basketball to North Central's Jason Gardner (Arizona).

I could have sworn it was 1997. We went to the state finals indiana/kent. all star game because Rob Robbins played in both. Maybe Rob was a soph in 1997 and a sr. in 1999, and I've just combined the two events.

I remember Rob sitting next to Jason Gardner, and me calling him Doug after a guy who went to my HS at the time.

Could be. I don't remember Rob. But I loved Jason Gardner. I was always surprised he wasn't able to get a shot in the NBA after Arizona. I think he had a hell of an overseas career though. Too bad there is no way in hell that Nuntius or ballism will see this.

Although I suppose I could just use Google and find that out like the rest of society.

Trevon Bluiett (Rivals no. 47 for 2014) reportedly has Indiana at the top of his list right now.

I agree. Surprised that so many IU fans are focused on UK:

                            Found online:

What does Indiana basketball do when it goes 27-9, reaches the Sweet 16, and finishes 16th in final poll? It commemorates the hell out of it, of course.
Indiana basketball has a new display in Assembly Hall commemorating its magical mediocre 2011-12 season. The display features newspaper articles and game balls from three home wins (high-five!) and the jersey Christian Watford wore when the Hoosiers beat Kentucky four months before Kentucky beat Indiana in the NCAA Tournament.
Is that a Sweet 16 shirt?????
                            I think it is.
                            Good job, Hoosiers.

Disagree. I read these forums (Pacers, etc) and reserve the right to opine when KY is mentioned. Some of you can take it, and some are so thin skinned you cant. If you mention KY I'll respond in kind.
