Michigan lost to the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Unlike Crean, Beilein has built up a good track record to overcome a loss like this.

New Jersey Institute of Technology…that doesn't even sound like a D-1 school.

They started competing in Div I in 2006.

Not a good day for the Big 14. Purdue loses to North Florida at home. Hopefully IU got its one awful home loss out of the way this season.

Knowing Crean he will win JUST enough to keep his *** from getting burned.

Rick Pitino is scum...After that incident in the restaurant years back, his coaching days should have been over. I would never support IU if Pitino had been hired. I didnt realize Thad Matta had won a bunch of national titles either....Hopefully when IU does part ways with Crean (in two or three years or whenever), the timing is right and they finally find the long term answer the program needs.

No coach is an angel. Bob Knight had his flaws for sure.

Boeheim runs a very dirty program, so does Calipari. UNC has the whole academic fraud issue. Yet year after year, those programs rake in talent, WIN, and their fanbases are happy.

Matta has been to two Final Fours, recruits at an elite level, and has the won the Big Ten multiple times. I'd love to have that kind of success at IU. Hell, a coach that can just make the NCAA tourney every year would be a big improvement over what we have now.

Holt playing solid again, 4 points and 4 rebounds for him in the first half so far (Compared to 2 pts and 2 rebs for Perea), about 5 minutes to play in the first half and IU is up 17

I agree, but it's a lot of money to build an arena on the level IU would need to make it worth it. We're talking half a billion probably especially since IU is pretty cramped for space right now in that area.

I have to admit, I didn't even bother watching the game. Savannah State? May as well have played Savannah Guthrie (from the Today show, for those who don't know.). Not worth the time or effort.

Indiana is reportedly close to landing UAB transfer Marqui Hawkins, here is his recruiting page:

Regarding Savannah State- Louisville beat them 87-26 earlier this year.

I'll give credit to Crean for scheduling a harder conference slate of opponents. SMU, Pitt, Louisville, Butler, and Georgetown is pretty difficult.

i went to the game (1st half at least)
it was dreadfully boring. i was already tired and sleepy before the game and got the time wrong and showed up at 7 instead of the 7:30 game time..
and the 1st half dragged on for what seemed an eternity (though my sleepiness probably exacerbated it)
i swear, i have never seen so many substitutions by 2 teams in that 1st half.
i bet neither team went more than a couple of possessions before crean or the other guy would send someone to the scorer's table. i honestly think some guys were subbed in and out of that 1st half a half dozen times.... simply ridiculous and completely unnecessary.
i see savanah st. has beaten 3 teams- those teams must be so bad it's unreal.
