Re: What movie did you last watch?

I saw 50 first dates last night, and thought it was hilarious. Rob Schnider played a great comic relief in that movie.

I also saw Elf over the holidays, and while it had a few funnies in it, overall I got bored watching it.

And I fell asleep in the first 30 minutes of Dodgeball so you can guess what I thought of that movie....

                  Last three....

Dodgeball - I laughed until I cried. Much funnier than Anchorman
Collateral - Great flick. Jamie Foxx in the club pretending to be Vincent is the best scene
Garden State - I liked it, but I can say that it's not for everyone

Re: What movie did you last watch?

I want to rent Dodgeball next week when it comes out on DVD here. I saw some trailer a while ago and it reminded me a bit of the sort of humour and lack of real story of the original Dumb and Dumber just absurdistic humour (which I am ashamed to admit really LOVED in Dumb and Dumber! ).

I loved Alexander, but others really hated it. It depends of what you expect of it. If you expect a Gladiator-look a like than DO NOT go see this movie. I loved Gladiator too, but Alexander is a story which comes much closer too reality. Personally I could have done with some of the monologues and some references to the gods could have been skipped to make the movie more accessible to the real large audiences. I also thought Stone could have done a better job with some of his flashbacks (but, he loves to use those a lot in almost all of his movies) and should have explained better how Alexander of Macedonia started his conquest in Anatolia instead of instantly moving towards the huge battle in the Arabian desert, but that is just personal preference.

I loved the fighting scenes in Alexander, certainly better than in Gladiator or the Lord of the Rings series. Offcourse, lots of computer rendered images here too, but I think they were better done than in those other movies I just mentioned. And it's not only the BIG battle scenes and overviews of the armies and cities ... it's also the smaller and medium scale battle-scene. My favorite combat scenes are when Alexander with his stallion face-off against an Indian War Elephant and archer, truly magnificiently filmed, but I really was impressed with most of the battle scenes in India.

Another movie I just saw and really liked was "Shattered Glass" about a highly regarded editor and reporter for The New Republic who is caught on not telling the truth in his reporting. Great movie about what journalism really comes down too or atleast should and what the consequences of such behavior could be.

                    Regards,

I just typed out all the movies I've seen since the Terminal, with what I thought of them, but my computer ereased it all. I am not doing that again. Let's just say I've seen a lot, and many weren't very good, some average, one or two good ones.

Really??? I really thought it was too long, too uneventfull a BAD romantic story pasted in between and really plain boring without any depth or character building in it. But, that's just me. Consider this though: I usually like long movies and good stories, I think there was much more "potential" in this movie than what we saw on the screen.
