    Oculus(2014)

Very chilling, stylistic, creepy horror film that continues an upward trend in Horror over the last few years. There are a few gaps in logic of course, but if you just go with it for the creep factor it is extremely well done.

I saw it at the theater so I downloaded a Torrent(guilt free) so I could watch it again. You catch things the second time that you miss the first time.

Tape- Stars Ethan Hawke, Uma Thurman and Robert Sean Leonard(Wilson from House)

Was a low budget indie film. I didn't care for it and at the same time still thinking about it.

Edge of Tomorrow. Not a Tom Cruise fan, nor a fan of post-production 3-D, but I highly recommend this movie, and I actually recommend seeing it in 3-D.
I didn't particularly like the ending but it was the perfect summer popcorn movie with great special effects and a decent take on the Groundhog Day concept.

              Cool.

If you want to see another movie like Groundhog Day, it was a low budget tv movie called 12:01.

Watched "The Wrestler" the other night. Solid film. Somewhat predictable.

Finally got around to watching "Horrible Bosses" the night before that. Overrated.

Saw this with the wife. A worthy sequel. Very very good.

I appreciate your comments on horror flicks. The Mrs. is a big fan of the genre and your viewing habits really help with choices.

Finally checked out the French film 'Inside' last weekend and it was a good 4 stars on the gross out slasher with a twist theme.

Her/my taste can be very different on horror/drama movies and agree on some and for some reason are far apart on others.

Something we can agree on.... Haute (High) Tension we both loved since it came out at a time the Japanese spook PG13 movies seemed to dominate everything. As mentioned above we both finally watched Inside (2007) and were pleased with it.

Frankly I've got so many blu-ray/dvds stacked up it takes a lot of time just to catch up and there are so many Pacer games we don't watch too many movies during the season.

                            Back to the list....
She loves the movie What Lies Beneath.... me, it's ok, not bad.
She loves the Chucky series.... me, the first one was decent, the rest are ok for comic relief I guess.
Of somewhat recent she really liked You're Next.... me, yeah it was a keeper.

I can't get enough of the Evil Dead (original) series or Dead Alive/Brain Dead. She... see's no purpose.
I love Alien and Aliens... she, can't stand Alien and only tolerates Aliens because in her words it's a war movie (and she may be somewhat right).

She.... can watch the torture porn movies like the SAW series with some interest. Me, I enjoyed the first and was pretty bored with what came after.

She/I both agree on action/horror films like Jaws or Seven (likey very much).

I enjoyed Sinister.... she slept through it and asked is it over yet.

Mama, we both enjoyed it but thought it had one of the crappiest ending we could remember.

The Exorcist is in my top 5 of all time.... she, thinks the story is too long and would fast forward to Linda Blair finally getting possesed.

The original Texas Chainsaw bores her... me, it's dated but I like the raw feel to it.

We both agree.... Halloween is probably #1 on both of our lists and a slicked up action/horror movie like Poltergeist is a lot of fun.

Edit: Something we really agree with.... both of us hate the shaky cam movies like Blair Witch or Cloverfield.

Good tastes on both your part. Totally agree about Halloween. It will always be #1 on my list. The Exorcist is a top 5 as well. Just re-watched Sinister last night. Not perfect, but a damn creepy film. What Lies Beneath has always been one of my favs as well as I like ghost stories and such over gore type films. Spot on with your comments on High Tension. First time I watched it was at 2AM all alone and it gave me the chills. Always been partial to Event Horizon for sci-fi.

Don't be too quick to dismiss the found footage genre. Most are crap, but I've seen so many that I know there are a few gems out there. There are also many lower budget gems, it's just that I've seen so many, I'll have to remember the titles. Have you seen all the other recent strong ones like Conjuring, Insidious, The Woman In Black? I'll post more titles later as they come to me.

I liked the Conjuring more than the Mrs. I think it was so hyped she was disappointed. I've got Insidious 2 and The Woman In Black still sitting on the shelf in shrink wrap.

As far as found footage films go I've got a copy of Cannibal Holocaust collecting dust in our collection. If it wasn't for the dvd being OOP it would be gone.
