Because the Beatles released 19 number 1 albums...are the number 1 selling band of all time...Influence...success...whatever you wanna call it the Beatles are miles ahead.

The Beatles have sole a claimed 600million to 1 billion albums.

Nirvana has sold 50 million. And that is counting all sales...

I'm not a dumbass. I know who sold more albums. You're are just so set on firing back before you think. The competition was different during their time. By different, I mean not that much. And I'm not saying The Beatles didn't deserve there success.

Album sales is album sales, and that is what defines success.

Do you think Nirvana has an international following like the Beatles? Because they don't. They were a niche band. They had a cult following.

20 years from now, it's very likely young people (people like you and me right now) won't even really know who Nirvana is off the top of their head. 40 years after the Beatle's we're still talking about them.

Honestly I'm confused on what competition you're speaking of. Who exactly did Nirvana take on?

The Beatles are STILL influencing music. Just on that fact alone, they have influenced a bigger mass, just on the fact that they've been around longer.

The Beatles are the #1 band of all time for a reason.

Hey gang, sorry that the messages got a little garbled in the move. I just really thought we should get this conversation out of the Amy Winehouse thread.

I guess what's confusing to me, is that if Nirvana was that revolutionary why did they have to compete against other bands.

Because during Nirvana's time there was much more competition. If you think there was the same amount when the Beatles were up and coming you're so very wrong.
