    Re: Random, Scattered Disturbed Thoughts

just found out my buddy's 12 year old son tore his ACL training for hoops. 12 years old. training. torn knee. I've argued with my buddy about this plenty of times, but his boy loves playing ball (no **** he does, he's 12), "he's a kid! he can play for days at a time!"

stop overexerting your kids. stop specializing them in a single sport. keep them the hell away from AAU. repetitive motions cause injuries. you know how it seems like pro athletes knees are getting shredded at an astronomical rate? it's because those elite kids have been training, hard, for 20+ hours a week since before they hit high school. they're not ****ing robots.

I think the people who live on my side of Houston don't have good home lives. They all drive to dang slow! I specifically mean the people in the left lane with their cruise set at the speed limit.

That would be Geezerette (if she lived in Houston) in spite of my admonishments she insists that she is driving the speed limit and anyone that wants to pass her is breaking the law.

People in DC have to be among the craziest drivers in America. Speed limit on 495 is 55, I generally go about 80 and people pass me on both sides like I'm going 45. On Saturday I saw someone on the side of the road pulled over by a cop (you don't see that as often as you do in Indy for some reason, at least on the interstate) and I thought what an unlucky SOB, virtually everyone could be cited for reckless driving here.

I must be one heartless sob. I became upset today while standing in the grocery checkout line....I kept it cool but I was seething inside. What upset me? A very overweight young lady laid out 5. Groups of baby food and laid a WIC voucher on top of each grouping. That's not bad but I felt she could use something cheaper than her iPhone to txt with somebody the whole time she was in line. Now I can understand someone needing assistance but if you can afford the price of an iPhone and the data plan then I have to question your need for assistance. Plus she had to be reminded to fill out and sign the vouchers....one at a time. Grrrrrrrrr I was running late as it was.

The poster "pacertom" since this forum began (and before!). I changed my name here to "Slick Pinkham" in honor of the imaginary player That Bobby "Slick" Leonard picked late in the 1971 ABA draft (true story!).

To be fair, with a 2 year contract iphones become rather inexpenseive, sometimes even nearly free.

Dismiss those crowds with firehoses set on fog. A wide angle fog creates quite a mist, not what you want hitting you on a cold cold night.

Not to mention if it is not the newest one they are next to nothing to get.

Still have problems with them affording a data plan.

I have been asked to join the Board of Directors of Edelweiss Therapeutic Riding Center in Greenfield (look us up on Facebook). So now dear friends I have a new charity for you to contribute time, talent, and treasure (cash or goods like hay) to....just to make you feel good about yourselves. No No Mr Admin that wasn't meant as an advertisement, I should have posted that last part in green.
