Good thing we can both get to work and back using one car.

I'm supposed to take my Prius in Monday to have the splash shield under the car looked at. I tore it loose on a concrete traffic baracade (like they use in your parking space) It had been moved by a snowplow and was hidden under some snow. Unfortunately they will try to soak me for plenty and I'll tell them to take it off and leave it off. I'm sure they will have some silly reason why it's not safe to do that and they can't let me leave the lot with the car like that.
I have a son who was a paint and body man so I will probably be forced to buy one from the Toyota dealer and have him put it on.

Yeah, being Ukraine right now is not good. This could escalate real fast and not in a good way.

That stinks. I had to take mine back in yesterday. It got warm enough to run the ac and water was coming out the vents. Sounded like a waterfall in there. so much fun

Nope - still can't find any as it's 9 degrees here right now.

BTW, It is 34 degrees here now. Not as cold as you all are, but it is still cold. Should be back in the 60's by week's end though.

                        Re: Random, Scattered Disturbed Thoughts

Random question: how does basketball progression work in this state, from the K-12 level?

Let me explain said question. I know how the progression work for football: its Pop Warner, with an option to join a travel team around 10 years old, and gives way to middle school/junior high football, then high school football. I know how the progression works for soccer: it's usually some rec program until about 8 years old, and then there are travel academies until about 12, and then travel starts in earnest at 12, and then at 14-15, a player usually has a choice between high school soccer and hypercompetitive, representing-the-state travel.

But how does this work for basketball? I'm just curious how things like Dads Club, CYO, etc. fit in to fill the gaps before you play high school or AAU ball. Honestly, for some reason, I don't know this, and none of my friends played serious enough ball to answer either.

Usually sat morning YMCA leagues, Boys/Girls Club, but AAU starts VERY early like 5th grade or even slightly earlier with those heavily motivated.

Do you play AAU instead of high school ball, or can you play both? I would assume one operates one season, one operates another, but not sure obviously.

Definitely both. AAU is mostly during the off summer months, HS basketball starts late fall and ends in March. (This week is actually Sectional week)
