Former Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe was feared dead on Friday after apparently being shot at a campaign event in the Nara region, local media reported.

So it looks like Ukraine has collapsed the Russian line of defense and have taken a large amount of territory in Kharkiv. More importantly they have cut off supply routes and funneled the enemy.

....and Russian incompetency has apparently reached a new level as one of their missiles has apparently hit Poland and killed two civilians.

That dumbass madman and his moronic grade army are really going to push us all to the brink.

They think it may have been a Ukrainian anti aircraft missle that was sent to intercept a Russian missle but missed. Hard to say unless we get more info.

So I am not sure why general Miley is saying Ukraine should negotiate. Last time I checked the president said that it is up to Ukraine to decide when the time is right. Putin is also not going to concede land unless by force. Give them Atacms and Ukraine wins quicker since all Russian command post would be destroyed.

The US policy is one that will not ensure a quick victory. Russia keeps escalating and the US is just slow walking decisions on decisive military aid.

Wahl died while covering a quarterfinal match, according to a statement from U.S. Soccer. His cause of death was not immediately given. . . . Earlier in the tournament, Wahl was […]

Is US response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine made stronger due to a willingness to punish Russia for meddling in the US election in 2016?

That's an odd take. Russia made the mistake by the pretext to which they invaded in 2022. When the war started in 2014 they very carefully crafted a narrative of pro Russian sentiment in Crimea and in the Donbas that enabled them to annex Crimea and hold territories in the East without much of a European or Nato response outside of sanctions. They inflated the pro Russian sentiment and armed the factions that were pro Russian which lead to the instability of the Donbas.

The pretext of 2014 invasion limited the Nato response. Contrast that to 2022 invasion and the pretext was Ukraine are Nazis and druggie politicians that need to be ousted. It's a complete pathetic attempt to even justify it.

To your point though this is about backing a possible winner that is willing to fight for a democracy unlike Afghanistan. Biden also saves face and renews US leadership in the Nato alliance.

Not really so odd. I didn't say it was the sole reason... I asked if it was "made stronger". Of course the US was going to support Ukraine... sanctions... condemning statements... etc... Even saber rattling. But it's been far more than saber rattling and some intel funneled their way. It's a full-fledged proxy war.

So apparently Russia may have coup on their hands. I fully expect it to fail but this can't be good for the Russian army on the front.

Welp I guess that ended quickly. I give Prog 100 days before he is liquidated. Hard to imagine him living after embarrassing Putin on the world stage.
