No on the acid burns...just shy since he quit drinking so much?? His old band whiskeytown would occasionally actually break into drunken fistfights on stage....that's with each other, mind.

He also appears in two movies where, in the last moments he gets a spear chucked into his chest (if I recall rightly): The Omega Man and Khartoum.
