I think Vontae is going to see his worth and then realize he wont get it.

Im still confident he will be back in a colts uni

CB Vontae Davis currently is expected to sign a contract on Tuesday -- but not with the Colts. Not over yet though.

Welp im going to be really annoyed if Grigs let's him walk not many corners that fit our scheme like Vontae does

I'd rather let him walk than give him the top tier money he's not worth, so I'd get it. But man I don't like trading a 2nd rounder for two years of a guy.

I agree it feels short sighted to give away these draft picks. I mean Andrew Luck is young we need to build for the future too.

TB is prepared to release Revis if nobody is willing to trade for his contract. If he could be had for cheap (6th or 7th round pick) should the Colts look into it? He's absurdly expensive (16 million a year), but I think he might fit with the Colts for a few reasons. First, he fits the man scheme of the Colts so well. Second, the Colts need secondary help.

The third is how the money shakes out. The Colts need to spend money this offseason, but they also need to leave lots of flexibility open for two years from now when many of their rookie deals come due. Revis with no guaranteed money in his contract can be cut at any time with no cap penalties. He's a great stopgap-a great player that can soak up lots of capspace now and doesn't have to later when the Colts need it.

enough do, no point in overpaying an inconsistent player 10 mill a year, but yeah sucks it did not turn out as we'd hoped.

only trade for him if you are getting picks back and he is willing to restructure.

Colts and DE Arthur Jones have mutual interest in each other, played for Chuck in Baltimore, and shaved his head when Chuck had leukemia. Sign him Grigs! He's one of the top DE's and will probably have a high price tag as well, likely 7+ million per year

I'm personally gonna be pissed if we let Vontae go. Our secondary will be terrible.

His performance isn't worth $10 MIL a year. Throw in the fact he has a history for being enigmatic and giving inconsistent effort and I'm good with Grigson taking a pass. Sucks to lose the 2nd rounder for a 2-year rental but that is a sunk cost. No need to make the problem worse with a potentially crippling contract two years before they need to sign Andrew Luck.

CB market is stupid this year. Maybe an effect of the big jump in the salary cap? Doesn't help that Rex Ryan is looking for a new cover corner and he has been known to overpay and overpay often. Rumors seem to indicate this is where Davis will end up.

The Colts might be better off upgrading the Safety position and trying to pick up a a Vet corner on a short term deal in 5 MIL range. I'd consider paying Revis more if the $$ and structure of the deal were right but there is something wrong when the best corner in the league gets passed around like a dirty book.

Odds of drafting a CB is this years draft just went way up.

I'm with you, however I think we will address the CB issue in free agency, doubt e have a 2nd round corner starting for us this year, unless on of the first round talent guys were to slip all the way to the end of the 2nd it most likely won't happen. Could have ended all of this if we would have went corner in the first last year... Really thought we would grab Xavier Rhodes, I think he will really be good this year.

On a sidenote, wouldn't be surprised if we sign Hakeem Nicks over Decker....

Oh yeah if we don't get a Safety in Free Agency Lamarcus Joyner would be an interesting option, he might not be as good against some of these taller WR's but he definitely makes plays and has good coverage skills.
