Anyone else yearn for the days of Carson Wentz? He looked like prime Big Ben compared to what we’ve watched since then.Leave a comment:

Could he play a few more games? Sure.
Will he underperform and/or get injured or both? Also sure.Leave a comment:

Lol...Flacco should start because this team can still do something. Then he does nothing and now it's Ballard's fault.

That was an amazing performance by Flacco. What a difference he made.Leave a comment:

Ballard had a pretty good excuse... for a while... Luck upping and quitting obviously threw a giant monkey wrench into the works. Philip Rivers coming off the Geriatric Wire and playing good gave some false hope that they could plug and play another geriatric QB in there when Rivers decided to take the recliner option.
And then it's been mistake after mistake.
It's too early to call AR a mistake, but he's FAR from ready to be on the field. I have no doubt he would've had one 70 yard TD throw... and several receiver misses, INTs, and a fumble or two for good measure.
That defense would've eaten Richardson alive.
And although it's too early to call AR a bust... he's a bust.
So, what's next? Ballard being fired sounds like a good first move to me.Leave a comment:

Almost should put AR out there in some of these short yardage situations.Leave a comment:

Respect your opinion but disagree completely. Thankful our team was not embarrassed on the big stage. AR is not ready and nothing wrong with learning like Mahomes did and Jordan Love from the bench. He needs to work with a QB coach big time in the off season.Leave a comment:

I can't believe we have to watch Flacco on one of the few primetime games they have. Such a buzz killLeave a comment:

You can never underestimate how poor QB can depress an entire team. The 2011 Colts who went 2-14 were filled with many players who played in the Super Bowl just 2 seasons earlier.
4-4 is remarkable with this QB situation. Still a bit irritated that they didn’t start Flacco week. Then we’d be 5-3. Look at what happened to Houston last night. They obviously have a commanding advantage over the Colts since they are 2-0 against us, but they have had injuries and are vulnerable.

I'm not sure Flacco will do all that well. The O-line was really bad last week. Maybe he can make reads quick enough but I dunno, pass protection was bad.
That said, AR was regressing, not progressing. And I wonder if his taking a play off lost him the team's respect and once Steichen read that he decided to make the change.
Irsay may have also had something to say.
He could simply not be trusted... Which is what makes him a coach killer as a project QB. 'Potential' gets you fired...
So....Flacco in theory might open things back up to play and call the game just based on the game and confidence in the QB to execute the play. Which then should elevate everything. Including O line play and buy in.👍 1Leave a comment:
