IF his injury is an AC3 injury, as has been said (though I'm not 100% sure it was officially confirmed) I'm just not sure how there was any other option than surgery from what I have read. At least for a QB with the injury on his throwing shoulder. Hence my line from above "But it's also looking like an unlikely scenario considering the reality of the situation.". The 'reality' being he's an NFL QB with the injury to his throwing shoulder.

It's an injury I know nothing about and I'm not a doctor... But I've been waiting for the other shoe to drop and 'surgery' to enter the equation. As a layman, nothing else made sense from the way the internet explained the injury, when you factor in we're talking an NFL QB and the injury being to his throwing shoulder.
Nuntius was right for a while. I was wrong for a while. But ultimately I was right and Frank Vogel has been let go.

You kick the FG there. It's simple math... Geez...
I mean, I realize the game is all but over anyway, but kicking the FG is the best chance you have.

The Colts are moving closer to making it official and AR being out for the season, with surgery being a likely part of the equation as well:
"There's debate going, but it's probably going to lead toward surgery in the next week or so," Irsay said. "We're just trying to figure out exactly how and when and what we want to do and what Anthony wants to do."...
Multiple team sources said doctors are still in active consultation about next steps and no final decisions have been made. Richardson's injury has been evaluated by several of the top specialists in the country.

"We think we have an outstanding football team still," Irsay said. "We'll take them one at a time."

Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson could undergo shoulder surgery in the next week or so, team owner Jim Irsay told ESPN.

Nuntius was right for a while. I was wrong for a while. But ultimately I was right and Frank Vogel has been let go.

Alexa has informed me Anthony Richardson is having season ending surgery.

Let him know there will be no snowboarding allowed.

In other news... I hope this is all bad luck but it's Bob Sanders vibes right now. Nothing has really looked 'that bad' for the amount of time missed in only 5 games (not just 5 games for the year but 5 games for his NFL career) and now out for the season with surgery.

Yep, I wanna be optimistic but, I don't think his career will even be as long as luck's. I am starting to wonder if he manages to finish his rookie contract before retirement.

It didn't really matter in the end... but I question that timeout on the 2 point play. Whether Cleveland scored 2 or not was not going to hurt the Colts. Either way, the Colts were going to need to play for a FG with 15 secs on the clock. I'd rather have two timeouts in that scenario versus 1. If Cleveland getting 2 would've forced the Colts to need a TD, I would've understood it. They could NOT give up that 2. But the 2 only made it a 3 point game IF Cleveland made it. Inconsequential to what the Colts needed to do in those 15 seconds when they got the ball back.

The NFL has allowed "hand-fighting" to be OK. Which is all well and good, I guess, but then that makes it EXTREMELY random (and questionable) when they do call a PI. And why it goes one way vs the other if they're letting both players get physical like that.
                      Where's the line?
And then does the ball need to be catchable or not?

As much as blaming the refs is what everyone in Colt-Land seems to be doing on social media... Minshew not protecting the ball cannot really be overlooked. The refs gives him a bit of hiding room on that, but take those away and the ref's calls down the stretch might've been non-factors.

the first one wasn't even handfighting...the wr just runs into the db and is in no way impeded

second one, like you say, i guess it could go either way, except WEMBY COULDN'T HAVE CAUGHT THAT PASS!

                                ESPN:

Teams routinely follow up with the league office for further context on calls with which they disagree. Colts coach Shane Steichen, who described the flags as "tough calls," said on Monday the team might take such a step with the NFL.

Those conversations happen in private and are not typically shared publicly. But Irsay took the unusual step of sharing the details in his post, writing, "The NFL admits and understands that they did not make the correct calls at end of Sunday's Colts/Browns Game. I believe we need to institute Instant Replay for all calls, including Penalties, in the last two minutes of All Games."
