Not as big opt-out-news as Lebron but...........

Channing Frye missed the entire 12-13 season after being diagnosed with an enlarged heart, but played in all 82 games while shooting 37 percent on three-pointers last season.

I'd like to have him off our bench. I like West too much to trade him unless we're replacing him with somebody like Aldridge, Gibson, or an elite PF. Frye IS slightly younger though. And has longer range but still, I dunno.

You depend way too much on S&T for these things.

Or throw in a first-round pick and flip it for a max-level point guard...

I never mentioned a S&T. I was slightly batting around the idea of maybe trading West and signing Frye. To get slightly younger, and add more shooting. Since Frye is considered a stretch 4. But I don't consider Frye an elite PF. So I don't know about moving West to clear space for him.

We'd have to trade a lot more than West to get under the cap so we can sign an FA at more than the MLE. I don't think Frye opted out so he could go for the MLE.

Am I the only one who sees a problem with trading our team leader...?

There's very few players I'd like the idea of trading West for, Frye isn't one.
            Dear P_George,
You have received an infraction at Pacers Digest.

In terms of fit, I think Frye would be a good backup big for our team. I just don't think us signing him is very realistic.

Nor did he opt out to come off the bench, I'd think. He's a starter in Phoenix and IMO could start for many other teams. Most current coaches don't share Frank's aversion to stretch bigs.

I kinda wonder, if we have a really good stretch big, would Frank play him? I would hope so; IMO a stretch big could potentially open up PG's post game the way Bosh does for LeBron.

A plan to replace West with Frye is taking one step forward and eight steps back.

I don't even understand how a reasonable mind could contemplate this.

LaVoy Allen is kind of a stretch big, if you watch his google glass cam in practice, he was hitting threes.

Good lord. This isn't even as big of opt-out news as McBob opting out.
