Ok, So More On The "RUMOR"...

Except Roy is getting that money no matter what. doesnt matter what he says about this rumor. So no, its not the same.

And those NBA attorneys can't tell Roy and PG they have to do this stuff. "You guys have to go fishing together or else!" Or else what? What are you going to do? Nothing. Cause there is nothing they can do.

You keep thinking that. At minimum they have their next contract to think of, and the league can blackball a player and either push them out of the NBA all together or at minimum kill enough demand that the contract they get is a fraction of what it could be. Then there are endorsement. And then...brace yourself, there are clauses in their contracts that this sort of behavior might fall under that pretty much means, yes, they STFU and do exactly what the NBA says to do.

There is a big g'damn reason the league constitution is PRIVATE as are the details of player contracts. I'm not just talking salaries, I mean all the language in them and the various requirements, restrictions, etc. That's all the stuff the players union and the league negotiate you will never have access to, by design.

Ummmm OK... They still can't force the guys to go fishing together and to go out of their way to say PG is the reason I got out of this funk. Seriously man, just look at the facts. Why the hell are you believing some random rumor blog over the players?

The NBA is going to force Roy Hibbert out of the league because PG slept with his fiance and then he didn't go fishing with him!

The NBA is second only to the NFL in controlling it's image. And yes, just like the wife that doesn't want to be next to the podium but is, people do what they have to do to satisfy perception. If going fishing quashes the rumor from public interest, potentially keeping a major outlet from seriously looking into it, then they'll do if.

yet he's not in the NBA because he's just not good.

He played for several seasons after said rumor. And after being arrested. Teams looked past that because he was a decent player at the time.

No - I'm taking a quote from Delonte West HIMSELF saying that the "rumor" HURT HIS MARKET VALUE. Whether it's why he's out of the league or just making less money, that's my damn point. RUMORS = MONEY, and players will go fishing together if they have to to NOT LOSE MONEY.
