Scola is an unguaranteed and expiring contract this season. So, keeping him in favor of West won't affect our 2015-2016 Salary Cap sitauation.

I am reluctantly okay with moving West ( purely to acquire assets ) but would not move Scola if West is gone. We don't have a Starting quality PF in the lineup...nor do I think that we can get one in return for him. If we can get a quality Starting future PF prospect for West.....then great, dump Scola as well for some assets.

I don't want to tank and think that it's important to try to compete and win at as high of a level as we can. If we can't get back a quality PF prospect in return for a trade of West....then I prefer to promote Scola to the Starting PF spot and run with him for the rest of the season.

I mean, if Bledsoe gets close to double what Dragic's getting this coming year, what's he gonna demand once he opts out y'know?

If by the deadline we are really suck? Then you move both because it won't matter anyways. If by the deadline we are projected by the experts to get a top 10 pick I say we start a fire sale and try for that or an even higher pick. Then net another pick in a trade. That would give us two top 15 or top 20 picks, plus an undoubtedly early 2nd round pick. As for free agents in 2015 as long as we get Goran and one Morris twin or Paul Milsap or Greg Monroe as a replacement for West I'd be fine with that. That would be enough, if Solo comes up big this season pairing him with two top 15 picks season after next would be MONEY. I think dealing West for a 2015 top 15 pick leaves Hill and Hibbert as the last two.

I'd be willing to keep Roy if we can get a PF like the Morris twins or Monroe. Their youth and quickness would make up for Roy's slowness. Roy needs to have a stretch 4 out there with him. It'd make his life much easier. I think if you sign a Marcus or Markieff Morris plus Goran we'd be fine.

Bledsoe's younger more athletic. Youth is always expensive in the NBA. Because behind that is potential... another expensive pearl.

I'd rather have Goran or even Rondo over Conley. I think he fits Memphis but for us if we're trying to get away from slow-mo and "aged" Pacer basketball a Conley acquisition wouldn't make any sense. Plus Vogel's contract is up next Summer so who knows. If he is sent packing this teams style will change. And that could be the diff between MAJOR Personnel changes, MINOR ones, or somewhere in between.

David Aldridge says no player/team options or partial guarantees in the Bledsoe deal. Bet he has a trade kicker too.

Even during the JO'B days before we were good enough to make the Playoffs....when did Bird or the FO ever do a "fire sale"?

At most, even with dumping West, the Pacers would only be able to offer the biggest contract offer to Dragic or Rondo...while having no cap space left to make any run at either of the Morris brothers.

Bill Simmons literally dared ESPN to suspend him for him going off about Goodell.

So they did, he's got three weeks off.

We'll have Paul returning to practice, a decent pick to look forward to and should be able to spend the entire MLE. The best part will be that we'll keep our entire core together to give them another chance at a title run. I don't think Hill, Hibbert or West will go anywhere.
Why do teams tank? Ask a Spurs fan.
