Re: Offseason News, Trades, Rumors, Etc.
I'll never understand how a team that had Iggy, Nick Young, Evan Turner, Jrue Holiday, Lou Williams, and Jodie Meeks couldn't make it work. That's a lot of offensive talent. Moving one or two pieces for an upgrade at a weak position would've done them fine. Instead, they blew up the whole damn team.Comment

That's why I mentioned they needed to move a few pieces to strengthen some of their weaknesses. Instead they totally dismantled the team! Big Mistake.Comment

I'm really glad I'm not a Phillie fan I'd have trouble being behind this strategy. I don't know why you couldn't build around Jrue Holiday. Do you continue to stockpile 2nd round picks and hope rookies work out? I can see getting a high pick in a given year, but this seems like there is no end in sight.
They have MCW, Embiid, Nerlens, Bennett in the Starting lineup. At what point do the Sixers start to compete for a Playoff spot?Ash from Army of Darkness: Good...Bad...I'm the guy with the gun.Comment

Why are you not a fan of the Suns, Rockets or wherever D'Antoni ends up coaching again that just scores, scores and scores?Ash from Army of Darkness: Good...Bad...I'm the guy with the gun.Comment

Sorry, I am not trying to be a d*ck here....but the offensive pace of the Team, the Players on the Team and the low scoring on the Team is all wrong for you.
Why are you not a fan of the Suns, Rockets or wherever D'Antoni ends up coaching again that just scores, scores and scores?
D'Antoni is an offensive genius. Just can't coach defense. I think the Pacers can score and defend, just need better personnel and maybe a NEW coach... maybe.Last edited by Grimp; 08-19-2014, 07:32 PM.Comment

Re: Offseason News, Trades, Rumors, Etc.
MDA rode the coattails of an in-prime Steve Nash/Amare. There's nothing revolutionary about manufacturing fastbreaks. The Suns averaged a league-best 110pts three times during his tenure in PHX. For a 30 yr span, the NBA average score was 110 or higher in 17 seasons, with the other seasons ranging from 103pts to 118pts. PHX did nothing special, nothing new.“Just because you're offended, doesn't mean you're right.” ― Ricky Gervais.Comment

When I become extraordinarily wealthy, I am going to buy two NBA teams, one I care about and one that I let Grimp run. You can all thank me later.

Re: Offseason News, Trades, Rumors, Etc.
Lemme think of a couple of examples of teams that ran the fast break as its dominant offensive philosophy:
Paul Westhead employed a "7 seconds or less" philosphy, and averaged 109 ppg. They allowed an average of 130.
The 2013-14 Philadelphia 76ers played at a blistering pace, and were in the running for the #1 draft slot even before they traded away half their team for pennies on the dollar.
Mike D'antoni always tries to push the pace up. He's been to the playoffs about half as many years as he's coached, and most of that time he had an in prime HOF Nash, and an in prime Amare Stoudamire.
