obviously Jordan's still the owner, they have a new GM now though? can't remember if Rich Cho had taken over yet when that Augustin stuff happened, wanna say he had just gotten the gig.

so nobody's gonna talk about how the Lakers are the Lakers, have Kobe, a bunch of cap space, and wound up with crap again? their prize is Jeremy Lin.

It was still Rod Higgins. He went to the media and told reporters he offered DJ more money to stay in CHA than what the Pacers offered him.

Sources close to Melo say (once again) torn on NY & CHI. Vision of a NY legacy on his mind but CHI seen as win now. Hearing decision by Mon.

Please tell me there's no way Bulls could manage to snare both Gasol and Anthony!

I like the kid a lot.

That doesn't mean he doesn't waste an incredible amount of time dribbling in place trying fancy handles that his defender isn't the least bit worried about.

Not sure where you drew the conclusion that pointing out the obvious means I don't like him.

It must be grating to Lance, who is 23 and has a significant ceiling in a league that will often pay top dollar for potential, to be behind two near 30 year olds in the free agent pecking order, one of whom (Deng) has a fairly worrying injury history.

That said, even though teams are passing on Lance, the way the market is playing out I think there is still one team out there who will offer him 10-12 million/year.

Re: Offseason News, Trades, Rumors, Etc.

Having a hard time keeping up with all the rumors but if we assume:

                            Deng to Miami
                            Parsons to Houston
                            Ariza to Dallas
                            Pau to Chicago

That leaves you with the Hornets as the only obvious suitor for Lance. I am not sure how much cap space they have but the average of what I have read is like $18 million. Let's assume (maybe generously) that Augustin and Hinrich are not redundant to the Hornets, they sign both, and they still take up a collective $6 million in cap space. That would still give the Hornets room to significantly outbid the Pacers if they wanted while still keeping some flexibility to sign a warm body during the season if they have injury problems.

And this assumes that Cuban does not push for Stevenson over Ariza, which I think is possible.
