Bird's hands have always been tied when it comes to not going over the LT.....why would this year be different than any year when it comes to chasing RFA's?

Well Larry is always trying to make the team better. Other teams are allowed to chase RFA's. Maybe Herb has come around, and thinks it's silly that we are the only team that doesn't? Also remember Portland made an offer to Roy when he was restricted. Why show any weakness on that end when other teams aren't?

The Kings have moved on from Thomas. Their GM said Collison will have the keys to the car for the Kings. All I know is the Kings talent evalulators must be blind to take Collison over Thomas.

I am sure Herb would allow for a S&T for RFA. He just doesn't want to drive the price up for the other team if they want to keep the player. The Kings don't want Thomas.

I was just speaking in general there is no way we could afford to go after Thomas now. I was stating if I was running the team I would have talked to the Kings about a trade July 1st. signing CJ really negated that possibility. Thomas will be a great value signing for some team.

              Scott Agness has a summary.
At halftime of the Pacers’ fourth of five Summer League games in Orlando, Larry Bird joined the NBA TV set to discuss a number of topics. The conversation centered on LeBron James to start, l…

You would think that after showing that he is much better bench player in Indiana, Dallas, and Clippers, Kings would realize he isn't really a starter.

Again, I ask......what has changed to make Herb think this? Nothing.....this year is no different than last year...or the year before.

The poster "pacertom" since this forum began (and before!). I changed my name here to "Slick Pinkham" in honor of the imaginary player That Bobby "Slick" Leonard picked late in the 1971 ABA draft (true story!).

I would be very wary of any trade involving Sanders and Hibbert. Apparently Jason Kidd tried to trade Lopez for Sanders last year because he wanted a mobile big instead of a plodding, traditional guy like Lopez. So if the Bucks, with Kidd now as their coach, are willing to ditch Sanders for a player that won't fit Kidd's preferred system (at least on offense), that indicates Sanders' red flags are even worse than is publicly known.

Because their GM is smart, notice a market inefficiency and pounce.

I would keep Dragic and Bledsoe if I was the Suns. Having 3 starting caliber guards would be deadly.

Larry always said he never hardly played with a true point guard in his days. Well you don't have to Larry when you have Larry bird on your team!
