Trades made at draft time typically aren't processed until after the new league year starts, and I think this is one of the primary reasons why.

The NBA CBA FAQ says that the NBA uses the team salary from the date of the last regular season game. There are some exceptions to that but they are mostly techinical in nature:

I guess the question is whether there is any legitimacy to the rumors that LeDecision was asking for the MAX and the rumor that TagAlong and Wade were asked to take a paycut to $12/11 mil that conflict with the other rumor that both TagAlong and Wade want more.

Everyone wants to get paid but don't want to take a pay cut. I dont care if the Big 3 go elsewhere and form another Big 3 on another SuperTeam.....i just want to see those smug Miami fans suffer through some mediocre seasons.

I knew that this garbage would hold up the entire offseason.

sooner the better, let all the other shoes drops and figure out what's really gonna happen with Lance (I still think he's gone)

I am thinking Chicago or LA now. Neither the Hornets nor the Hawks are serious contenders for Lebron/Melo but as far as we can tell they are not aggressively pursuing Lance. If they wanted Lance you'd think they'd go for him now, before Chicago or LA lose their chance at Lebron and Melo and then decide to overpay Lance.

If it became really clear that the Lakers were going to get Lance, would their willingess to trade Nash facilitate an S&T or is that unrealistic? I know Nash is old but he is still a 6 apg guy and may be better than losing Lance for nothing.

I imagine LA'd LOVE to do that. I don't want anything to do with Nash's corpse unless we're getting an unprotected pick or two.

Melo to the Knicks. Lebron to Houston or maybe NYK. I also don't think the Pacers are gonna go into the season with Hill at PG. Dragic or Rondo will be here this Summer. If Indy started these talks, they aren't just gonna give up now that Phoenix either won't part with Goran. Or wants a sweetener in the deal. Or we need a 3rd team. Only upgrades at PG we could get are.......

                          Rondo
                          Dragic
                          Isaiah Thomas.

In order to get IT, that means Herb softened on his Restricted Free Agent stance. And there'd be a trade of some kind.

I thought Phoenix could fit Lebron and Melo in with the Max. I don't understand why this isn't a really attractive destination, even though its in the west. (sending vibes to get Lebron anywhere in the West)

I really doubt anyone was going to offer Hayward the MAX, even the Cavs. If you're scared that Jazz would match any offer, why bother sitting down with him in first place?

Wouldn't it be better than losing Lance for nothing? Nash is entering the last year of his deal, correct? I guess it depends on whether we think he can play most of the year or if he back injury was a career killer.
