Re: Offseason News, Trades, Rumors, Etc.

Just to give you an idea about how much Free Agents are likely asking:

Just a reminder for all......at most, we can offer the Full MLE ( $5.38 mil ). Free Agents like Hawes are going to go for more than the full MLE.

Yeah, I'm waiting for people to be really disappointed, I heard somewhere that like 15 teams have at least 10 million dollars in cap space available, might be totally wrong though.
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

WTF???????????? Why would we want him? He's old, his shot is done, he's done. Just because he had like a few decent games vs us? Did he even show up vs. SAS? Come on now Larry......

I'd take Spencer Hawes as our starting center over Hibbert right now. Not only is he a better re-bounder, he can really run the floor quite well for someone being 7'1. And he can shoot the 3 and is a constant threat so people HAVE to come out on him.

I like him too, but not a rim protector at all and the entire defense is predicated on Roy patrolling the paint. Hawes is made of glass too. Good player tho, serviceable starter, imo, not sure about 8 million, but probably not too far off if he could stay healthy.

I have no idea why the Pacers would be interested in him.

I pray that someone is calling up Morrow....he's the only near elite 3pt shooter on the UFA market.
35% from 3 is "horrible"? He may not be Korver, but 35% isn't horrible.

Why do teams tank? Ask a Spurs fan.

Hawes just doesn't seem to be a center for a good playoff team IMO. If I recall correctly, the Cavs benched him a lot at the end of games.

I would take Kent Bazemore over Henry. Bazemore looked good in his starting role with the Lakers for a few games post GSW trade. Henry is athletic but that's about it. It's weird because they want Henry for athleticism and Miles for shooting apparently. Yet they're also interested in Rashard Lewis? That's two steps back. He can't shoot anymore, and he's old. His shot just HAPPENED to magically re-appear in one series last post-season. Guys game has been suspended in Kirby's Dreamland for the past 3 or more seasons.

Cavs have no clue what they're doing as an organization. If they had made the playoffs and maybe won a round? Deng and Hawes would wanna re-sign. Instead, they will lose both who they traded for. And then they can't lure free agents because who wants to play in Cleveland? Especially with no LBJ and a team full of unproven youngsters.

I think Bazemore isn't in our price range or not a comp to Henry. I saw a report several teams are going after Bazemore first thing, Henry not so much. I really like Henry coming into that draft, he doesn't seemed to have put it all together, maybe some guys take longer. He has the size/ability I think.

To be fair, it was Lewis saying he expected to hear from those teams, NOT the teams saying they are interested.

These are pretty much the only types of players that we're going to be able to add. We have pretty much no flexibility. The only thing we'll be adding is the 2014 version of Rasual Butler. This is why we have to keep Lance. We'll suffer a massive talent loss without him with pretty much no way to replace him.
