A player can be great without being compared to the best players to ever play the game.
I agree with your general point except Kobe being "inarguably top 7-8". No. He is the definition of "arguably". Jordan, Bird, Magic, Kareem, Malone, Wilt, Russell, Oscar. Okay, there is 8 and a good argument.

My original argument was that really PG Kobe comparisons are bad. They are very different in style. Same reason I hate the LeBron MJ comparisons. They are terrible. LeBron is a very unique player, not one that should he compared to others but one that eventually players will be compared to, can't think of a player with quote his style of play.

First I said I see kobe in PG. Then some ppl said he could never touch kobe. Why does it matter that they don't play the same position? They both are wing players. And pointed out that PG is basically on the same track as kobe was in his fourth year. Kobe wasn't picked #1, didn't come out and straight dominate his first years. Won his 1st ring WITH Shaq in his fourth year. If Pacers win it this year PG would also get his fourth but will have a finals mvp unlike kobe.

So who says PG can't be the next kobe? PG talks about how he studies kobe. I see the same fire in PG that I see in Kobe. I bet ppl said Kobe couldn't come close to Jordan too

39 in a winning playoff effort is a clearly a step in the right direction. However, it's an insult to Kobe to even talk about PG in the same breath until we see pictures (more than once) of PG standing next to a championship trophy.

Kobe is an assassin. PG wants to be an assassin.

After reading article after article after article at lunch about LeBron's greatness (and let's be clear, he *was* great last night), I can't wait until our team punches him and knocks him out in the next series. Tired of his smugness. Give me a Durant any day over his character. The LeBron app (and over the top commercial) was the final straw for me.

He surgically dissected the Nets last night. I mean, he literally sized up the floor, and either saw the open man way before the play ended, went to the rack, or shot a three. It's like he had his way with them.

I've not seen him capable of behaving that way against the Pacers in the past two post-season match ups. He will find Hibbert and a helper at the rack. He'll find PG/Lance on the perimeter, and he doesn't like to shoot long 2s.

Man, I'm going to have to do something special to celebrate once they finally dethrone the Heat.

The Detroit Pistons are progressing toward a deal with Stan Van Gundy that would make him their coach and president of basketball operations, according to sources with knowledge of the talks.

Scary proposition lol...I would say Monroe is as good as gone if this happens. I'm sure he'd want the Pistons to be much like his Orlando teams were with Dwight/Drummond, but the Pistons don't have the shooters yet. This would scare me bad if I were a Piston fan, but this could just be a bluff to Golden State to give more money and power.
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

I don't love LeBron either, and that app is the dumbest ****ing thing I've ever heard of, but I can't hold that against him.

I really don't mind him until we play him. Then he makes me mad.

Monroe's a RFA. I'd agree to a sign and trade if the terms were right, but I also don't think SVG is a 1-trick pony.
